#2. I will explain how to overcome employer objections when asking for a pay raise. So, if the employer gives reasons for not wanting to give you a pay raise, I will tell you what to say in response!
#3. I will give you the exact SCRIPT TO USE when negotiating a pay raise!

7 ESSENTIAL TIPS FOR GETTING A PAY RAISE
SALARY NEGOTIATION PAY RAISE TIP #1. 01:23
Make sure you have a number in mind that you want to get paid, and that you are going to be happy with.

SALARY NEGOTIATION PAY RAISE TIP #2. 02:01
When deciding the figure you want to get paid be sure to carry out some research. There are several things you should research to determine how much you should be getting paid.

RESEARCH AREA NUMBER 1 – Ask people who are in similar roles in different companies what they are getting paid. This will give you a good indication of how much you should be getting paid. If you know the ‘going rate’ for your position in your industry, it makes your negotiating position stronger.

RESEARCH AREA NUMBER 2 – Check out the numerous online salary tools that are available. For example, GlassDoor.com has a ‘KNOW YOUR WORTH’ tool that you can quickly find out what you should be getting paid based on your job title and industry.

KNOW YOUR WORTH! ESTIMATED SALARY FOR YOUR JOB ROLE AND INDUSTRY:
1. https://www.glassdoor.com/Salaries/know-your-worth.htm
2. https://www.salary.com/

SALARY NEGOTIATION PAY RAISE TIP #3. 03:13
And this is an important one… before you go into a pay raise discussion with your boss, gather details and evidence of previous your STRONG WORK PERFORMANCE and also how you have already ADDED VALUE to their company since you’ve been working there.

SALARY NEGOTIATION PAY RAISE TIP #4. 04:31
When discussing and negotiating a pay rise, you need to tell your manager what is going to be different once they pay you the salary you deserve. This is a great way to increase the chances of getting a raise and to demonstrate your commitment to their company.

SALARY NEGOTIATION PAY RAISE TIP #5. 05:50
Is about timing. When is a good time to ask for a pay raise? Well, the best time to speak to your boss about a pay raise is:

(1.) When the company is performing well financially, and there is a good feel around the organization! You will know in your company when there is a positive vibe around the place.

(2.) A good time to ask for a pay raise is when you have finished a really important task or project that has had a positive impact on the organization.

(3). Another good time to ask for a pay raise is during your performance review, especially if you have performed to a very good standard throughout the year.

(4). Finally, a good time to ask for a pay raise is at the end of the financial year as this allows the company to factor in your pay raise within the next year’s financial budget.

SALARY NEGOTIATION PAY RAISE TIP #6. 06:50
Is to CONSIDER ANY OBJECTIONS! Again, this is vital when preparing for a pay raise discussion.

SALARY NEGOTIATION PAY RAISE TIP #7. 08:23
There are actually two elements to this tip – first of all, never get offended or take things personally when discussing a pay raise; always maintain professionalism. Never say, “well if you don’t give me the pay raise I want I will look for another job.” Never do that.

And the next piece of advice is to make sure you practice the pay raise negotiation with a friend or relative before you go into a discussion with your manager. This is a great way to help you overcome any nerves you may have and to really polish what it is you want to ask for.

SALARY NEGOTIATION (PAY RISE) EXAMPLE SCRIPT TO USE: 09:09

Can anyone give me advice, I'm working as VA in a like virtual BPO where they sell service to other business like, CSR, bookkeeping etc., I work as accountant and I have access to the client books so I discovered that the company I directly work, bills the client very high and I was only paid 20% out of it, is it right for me to ask for a raise even though I'm just about to turn 3 months with them. The client gives positive feedback for my performance and that he even told me that if there are any changes with the company I work, they will retain me with them.

    Thank you!

Two points…. Few take the time to learn how to speak well, with confidence, and elevation to show that their skills and abilities could take on a higher level of responsibilities and they are interested in doing so. Second the last one that threatened that he would have to look for another job if he didn’t get what he wanted did indeed have the time to look for another job. I terminated him on the spot.

Thank you for this video! My job currently has me working 2 roles in one. I was told I would only have to help out until in the 2nd role until January. January came and no talk about going back to my regular role. I recently spoke up and asked when am I going back to my regular role. My manager sent me a meeting invite titled “job duty reconciliation”. I think they are going to try to keep me working both roles so I’m struggling on how I can demand a pay raise without quiting on the spot if they say no.

    I need an advice please!
It's been 5 months since i joined my company as a fresh graduate electrical engineer. Now, they promoted me to a team leader. My team is made of 3 freshers that i should train. My team is involved in the top1 project of the company Oil&Gas?

@CareerVidz thank you for the informative video. Getting salary info on my role (Business Development Analyst) here in other third world countries is very challenging and the role is very demanding yet getting results is mostly out of my control i.e it takes long to hear back from clients hence it might seem as if I'm not performing well on my role. I plan on having a discussion with my manager for a salary increase this week…how would you advise me to approach my manager?

  26. @ritakilicci4897

    March 12, 2024 at 8:11 pm

So I should not mention that I'll just look for a different job if they dont pay me more…. but what if I honestly received an offer from a different company which pays substentially more for the same job? Should that still not be mentioned?
In my current company I'm definately being paid below market median due to our tiny size, and the other company is HUGE so they can afford paying a bit over the median, thus creating such a big difference in salary. I feel like mentioning this offer could form leaverage in case the negotiations dont work out the way I want, but now I'm very confused

  27. @lovemyself3273

How if during iv, we already said a basic minimum number but expecting with additional allowance or bonus..but they said no allowance. Can we switch our expected salary? Is there any script example to negotiate.. how to deal with this situation

Thank you so much! Amazing video!
I have a question for you, I am working in the company for 2 months, and I got many new, unexpected responsibilities and projects that are the cause of the employee shortage. I have delivered them successfully, however, during these 2 months, I realized the salary is not satisfactory. Now I am on 3 months probation period, also it is the end of the year. Do you think it is good timing for negotiating a higher salary? Is it too fast to ask fro a payrise?
