Super league in all but name

I would keep the traditional format people have been used to and since they want more teams and more matches, I would additionally add one more team in each group stages that means 5 teams in each group which would guarantee at least 8 matches for each team on every group, the first two 2 on each group would proceed to the next round of the 16, the 3rd team would continue in the Europa league, the 4th would continue in the conference league and the 5th or bottom last would go home ending their competition.

This would finally or hopefully solve their greed for more money through more games meaning 16 more games would be added as a result of a fifth team and in total there would be 40 teams in the Champions League

This new format of Champions League can be changed in order to reduce the gap between clubs from West and East of Europe, to offer for small clubs to develop their game. This can be a big advantage for big clubs.

I think these proposals are great. It rewards more competitive leagues like ours due to it being an extra place outside the top 4, and also the FA cup champions league place seems a great idea.

who ever is running FIFA n UEFA don't have any clue why people love the Sport don't fix what's not broken

As an arsenap fan love it our history will finally come into play

  7. @liamgibson6440

    March 13, 2024 at 11:31 am

Why try and fix something that isn't broke! basically taking competition from all the big leagues in the world and saying "dont worry you have a great history. you finished 15th but you're still going to play champions league football next season!" what the hell is the point of that? OH WAIT I KNOW!…. MONEY!!! just like the Torys… keep the rich people rich and the poor people poor.

    The none champions league.

  11. @spodermoose7401

    March 13, 2024 at 11:31 am

this league will go from being a prestigious tournament with a simple and understandable format which rewards the teams with the most skill. teamwork and heart. It will instead become a tournament which is there to create massive funds for uefa and the clubs involved, it will have no prestige and Itll be no better then the super league and it will destroy the most historic and epic tournament in football and turn it into a franchising tournament with a convoluted format most of these clubs will just be back in the CL next year no matter how good at football they have been. Nobody in their right mind who loves football will do this but these people dont, they love money. I would love aston villa to be a wildcard for the CL but it wouldnt be based off what they have done in the present but what was done in the past and that just devalues actually getting to the cl

  12. @bulletvivace

    March 13, 2024 at 11:31 am

This is an invitation to corruption, if it is desided of the pitch.
Just making the format smells of it…

  13. @markdillon5494

    March 13, 2024 at 11:31 am

I would stop watching the Champions League. I'm not interested in some closed shop rich club league.

    CHAMPIONS LEAGUE YOU EARN IT

  16. @mbowenixivono5857

    March 13, 2024 at 11:31 am

The European super league should happen and the big teams shouldn't play in Uefa competitions. Teams like Wolves, Athletic Club, Fiorentina, Mainz must play in Europe

  17. @crashfan9997

    March 13, 2024 at 11:31 am

    This part was scrapped anyway

  18. @zaubnino77

    March 13, 2024 at 11:31 am

Yeah then UEFA would be bribed to decide which wildcards to bring into UCL. The historically good teams should be ashamed if they were to enter based on non-merits.

  19. @dmvzfdac

    March 13, 2024 at 11:31 am

    How are Arsenal 11th?
They’ve been utterly useless for years.

  22. @Christian_Bagger

    March 13, 2024 at 11:31 am

And Champions League is regressed. I think we already are at a sweetspot and it’s about fine tuning rather than overhauls

  23. @demonedante1148

    March 13, 2024 at 11:31 am

They need to realize that the broadcast revenue is from the big clubs so they should have more power

  24. @roshi98

    March 13, 2024 at 11:31 am

The ESL was a better idea than what UEFA has come up with. UEFA's (and Sky's) main argument against the ESL was over exclusivity, but here we are with UEFA proposing exclusivity with none of the financial mechanisms which the ESL proposed that would have addressed issues like FFP, profit sharing, salary caps, gate receipts and sponsorships, and distribution of monies to smaller clubs. No doubt the ESL was a money grab, but it's not the kind of vulture capitalism on steroids like UEFA continues to practice.

    March 13, 2024 at 11:31 am

Champions league is not anymore Champions Bunch of crap. In 2030 If Blackburn Bournemouth or Nottm forest if any championship clubs go to North Korea summer tour does This clubs are qualify for European champions league? Because in my opinion they do. European champions league is not competition is trying to be governing clubs.

  30. @thegoat5375

    March 13, 2024 at 11:31 am

There is no Surprise teams in the CL after this no dream stories it’s just a super league where only the big teams win a watered down NFL / NBA no drafts to make smaller teams more competitive and can challenge only a league where 6 teams or so can win go for it UEFA

  31. @thegoat5375

    March 13, 2024 at 11:31 am

So this is the super league wow

  32. @aminzqrti7672

    March 13, 2024 at 11:31 am

You are getting the new format wrong.. it's about the country's coefficient not club ranking. Please correct this huge mistake

    March 13, 2024 at 11:31 am
