John Terry is a Man Utd fan. He obviously has an affiliation with Chelsea the club he loves

As an arsenal fan ive no problem with the Chelsea penalty, the ball is stoped by the hand, no problem. My problem is when Chelseas goalkeeper comes late the balls gone and he nearly takes jeasus head off and nothing is done about it.

Beautiful heartfelt (and well-informed) tribute to Sir Bobby by Gary here.

I think Jurrien Timber's injury has really hampered Arteta's vision for the team. No knock on Gabriel but I don't think he can play the same style of play as Timber. For me, Raya only made sense with Jurrien Timber in mind. Timber on his own is a great addition, with Timber, Saliba and Raya in the squad and suddenly the backline is transformed. You essentially have two full-backs who can invert or overlap, two CBs who can make passes and a GK who can act as an outfield player. Arsenal really don't have many good options here, I think this is the right direction and it may be that Arsenal can not get up to speed this season but they have a very young squad that will grow the challenge is you have to keep all your good players at the club, fit & healthy and improving for this to work.

If you use ‘competition for places’ as a positive for outfield players, you’re a hypocrite if you make an exemption for goalkeepers.

Unless we’re to start prioritising goalkeepers feelings.
    Which I know is bullshit.

I understand from the outside it looks like there’s a fight for number 1.

But… and hear me out. What if ramsdale wanted time away from the game to make sure him and his wife can live the final weeks of pregnancy without a distraction after losing a baby after the World Cup. Maybe this was the plan from arteta to safegaurd ramsdales mental health and dealing with the flashbacks of losing their first pregnancy. Just maybe

Bring Rambo back soon as possible though

sympathy for saliba but no sympathy for romero who had two of these go against him this season

  13. @StephenBolger

    February 8, 2024 at 8:33 am

I think Raya and Ramsdale are both feeling the pressure to prove they are the better keeper that it can affect their performances. So far, we have seen this a lot with Raya. Also, great words spoken about Sir Bobby. A true legend of the game.

  14. @Warzulu77

    February 8, 2024 at 8:33 am

I think Mark Goldbridge said the best. He described Sir Bobby Charlton as an entity – the figure of Manchester United. Neville’s speech was fantastic.

    February 8, 2024 at 8:33 am

Gary is such a fake mate says he only wants his keeper to be solid and shot stop as main priority had that in de gea and he slated him for months and said he had to go

It was deffo a penalty, it was Saliba's mistake, Mudryk didn't need to use his hands to head the ball, Saliba wins the header then there would be no penalty. He didn't and made his body bigger while jumping so you run the risk of giving away a penalty

Ederson is not world Class ,he can pass the ball as much as he want's but he's no top Goalie.

Neville's increasingly odd views and bias is destroying his position the premier pundit. His campaigns against Raya (imagine if he had flattened a Chelsea player without touching the ball, Gary would have been going apoplectic) his ridiculous comments on the amount of time being taken over corners (lower than the Pl average) show he is coming into games with an agenda rather that really reviewing what he sees. No respect for him any now sadly.

Arsenal haven’t performed well in games for a long while now! They beat City and stuff but that fluidity and rhythm has just not been there. Can’t blame anyone else but Arteta! Too much tinkering and overthinking and trying to make unnecessary seemingly pointless changes in the team hasn’t helped either! From goalkeepers to Partey at RB to playing CHELSEA REJECT AND DEADWOOD Jorginho instead of WorldClass Partey continues to create more disruptive rhythms and a lack of continuity! How hard is it to play your best team and keep things simple?

  28. @diehardgunner4844

The reality about this game was that Chelsea setup well with the diamond midfield and arteta made a few mistakes early on. He later corrected these in the second half by then Chelsea got 2 lucky goals. However arsenal scored 2 brilliant goals. The mistakes were jorginho instead of partey in the 6, and zinchenko instead of tomiyasu at left back. In the end Chelsea held on for a point. Good result for arsenal.

How can you say that isn’t a handball? No one said he hand balled it on purpose. That is irrelevant! The ball hit the hand.

What a fantastic podcast and behind the scenes description of Sir Bobby. I’m an Arsenal fan but my dad emigrated from Nigeria in 1957 and would go on and on about Charlton, Best and Nobby. The closest player in the modern era in style would be Zidane but with more pace RIP Sir Bobby 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
