The problem is we actually SHOULD "California" the United States. California is actually an economic colossus compared to the other 49 states. It's even by itself the fifth largest economy IN THE WORLD. We should all have their problems.

Both of these guys are idiots. One is down 60 points in the polls, the other one isn't officially running for office, and yet here they are arguing.
Newsome is a snake for running a shadow campaign, and DeSantis is a fool for being used as a media tool. They both need to go home and stick their heads in the toilet.

Haven't watched any of these debates. I learn all I can about the candidates by following their careers and learning about their success in the jobs they have held and where they stand on the issues. These debates are a waste of time and are not entertaining in the least. It's like listening to used car salesmen trying to sell you the car on their lot.

I have lived in (Northern) California for about 70 of my 77 years. For about 55-60 of those years California was truly the Golden state. People came here from all over the country and the world for health, good jobs, sunshine, and more. But all good things eventually come to an end, at least temporarilly. Democrats have of course controlled the legislature forever it seems. The huge influx of immigration, really getting going strong about 25 years ago gave the Democrats a massive voting block of those mostly Hispanic immigrants. Government gave them perks to buy their votes, and of course it worked. Most of the Hispanics I know and have known are solid people. But when the government gives you free stuff who doesn't take it? Now some of those Hispanics are finally seeing that too much of a good thing, (like food and calories) can and often does have a very negative effect and they are seeing how too many "illegal" immigrants is becoming a negative for their own families and communities. Like everything else, that nothing same the same forever. Note the horrendous obesity epidemic here and of course elsewhere. At least in that one we aren't as bad as other places. But at some point, and I mean into the future 10 and more years there will be a revival in California. It has too much beauty, and too many mild winters in much of the populated areas to stay down forever. In addition it has the capacity to generate lots of wealth. Newer and younger politicians who are not part of the Democratic "machine" like is Newsome will finally be seen for what they are. In many cases just plain stupid! While the coastal commission which has killed development except for the VERY wealthy has done SOME good, it has just become too limiting a factor. The taxes will also have to come down and spending reduced, and it will. Reality has a way of catching up with even the most entrenched of bureaucracies. But…….I wouldn't come here now.
