A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck off the northern coast of Japan, briefly triggering tsunami warnings and sending coastal communities into high alert. The quake originated near the Chishima and Japan trench systems, one of the most seismically active zones in the Pacific Ring of Fire.

Authorities, including the Japan Meteorological Agency, quickly issued and later lifted tsunami advisories after monitoring wave activity. While the initial warning caused widespread concern, officials confirmed there have been no reported casualties so far.
