I think it was more a comment about people voting for the thing that is poised to do them harm than it was about equating the people with roaches – but yeah, definitely could have picked a better analogy for sure. Like how about "Sweet angels with beautiful wings voting for men holding bone shears aimed at their backs" or "Well meaning, huntress lionesses voting for self-absorbed, loner, corporately-owned tigers." Those might have been better.
