India’s entire 2,843-kilometer Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) network is now fully operational. The milestone was achieved with the completion of the 1,506-km Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), following a successful trial run connecting the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Terminal (JNPT) to Vaitarna in Maharashtra. The 1,337-km Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) was fully commissioned earlier in October 2023.
