The United States is planning to pay 725 million dollars toward its debt to the United Nations, a move that could provide some much-needed breathing room to an organisation facing a severe cash crunch. But here’s the bigger picture: the U.S. Still owes the UN several billion dollars. The UN says Washington is behind by more than 4 billion dollars, while latest reporting puts the overall figure at around 5 billion dollars, including regular UN operations and peacekeeping.

Vessels Carrying 22 Indians ‘Hijacked by Pirates’: Two Ships Seized Near Yemen, Somalia | Originals
Two vessels carrying 22 Indians hijacked off Yemen and Somalia coast.Tanker M.T. Sibu 1 with 16 Indians among 20 crew was hijacked by 6 pirates in Gulf of Aden, 30 miles off Yemen. All crew reported safe.
In a second incident, cargo ship M/V LUTUF carrying 6 Indians was hijacked off Somalia’s Puntland while transporting Turkish weapons. 8 pirates took the vessel towards Garmaal.
