A harvest supermoon cast its glow over Caracas on Tuesday (September 17) and residents were treated to a rare glimpse of a partial eclipse at the same time.

A time-lapse of the partial eclipse showed the supermoon rising in the night sky while partially covered by the Earth’s shadow.

The moon is considered a supermoon when it reaches the closest point to Earth in its orbit, making it look much larger from Earth.
