In a word, No – Steven Gerrard isn't good enough to replace Jurgen Klopp as manager of Liverpool.

If you really want someone who has an Anfield connection Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen may be worth a try.

With out doubt he will, but I feel petrified it won’t work out he’s a monster of a footballer a Liverpool power house I can’t stand the thought of it not working out Liverpool as a club and supports owe him everything

It's time for jurgen klopp to leave 😠😠😠😠😠

Look, just because Steven Gerrard was a great player for Liverpool it doesn’t give him the right to be their next manager. He has to prove it first, he has done reasonably well at Rangers but let’s be honest as crap as Celtic have been this season they were just as bad last season but he couldn’t finish above them. He has to deliver. He has the chance to finish above them this year (which now looks likely) but he should really have done so last year as well when they were diabolical.

In order for Liverpool to progress after Juergen Klopp leaves them, they have to look at established managers who have done it & have proven that they can potentially achieve greatly. A name Liverpool could look at for their next manager is Julian Nagelsmann. Despite Leipzig getting the moneybags reputation due to their owners, he barely spent anything, and he got them to the Champions League semi finals, they finished 3rd in the Bundesliga & they play good attacking football. Don’t forget his work at Hoffenheim either when he got them to the Champions League qualification stage.

If Jurgen ever leaves which is probably in a few years I will miss him as the greatest liverpool manager of all time but what I truly wish for is that gerrard takes his place and gets that long waited for title

Steven Gerrard is my all time favourite Liverpool fc Player & I would love for him to one day become the manager (But realistically he needs more time managing a couple more BIG Clubs & mature in himself so he’s not just liked he’s loved from every position I.e the players the staff down to the kitchen staff and groundskeeper!) KLOPP is not just a good manager he’s a good person through & through & you can see what he means to fans and the players through the way they play he can bring the best out of a player by being the best manager he can be 👍🏾❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏆👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💯

Steve g was a great player but I don't want him back as manager maybe in 10 to 15 years yes but not for a good few years.

  8. @kevinwilliams1421

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

As ‘our’ club….listen he will learn his trade with ‘them’ and he will defo be the manager one day

I dunno, great players never really make great managers, Dalglish was a hit and miss but that's it

  13. @aldorfc220

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

Want him to win the treble for rangers first !

  14. @NatalieLawrence

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

Xabi Alonso would make an excellent manager. He was a brilliant player and would not be hindered by the massive weight of expectation that Gerrard would be subjected to

OMG! Who thinks of these stupid discussions?!?!?

  16. @ernisupriani9270

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

Most of the comment is like everything will happen tomorrow. I don't think what they talking about will happening soon. It will happen probably like 10-15 years or more in the future.

  17. @randomguyontheinternet6885

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

I would like it if Steven Gerrard become a liverpool manager, but I will appreciate if Klopp will stay at liverpool

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

He’s falling in love with Rangers but.

  19. @Kenneth_Usher

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

Steve is a red hot Liverpool fan, it’d be a dream come true if he became Liverpool manager. I agree with Steve we hope Juergen stays for years to come.

  20. @horsepower523

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

Would be absolutely amazing if Stevie G could do the same what Zidane did at Real Madrid. But I hope Kloppo will stay as Liverpool for many, many, many years. In Klopp we trust!

  21. @steli7906

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

Stevie and Lampard will be good managers, they have good attitudes and very modest

  22. @jcronin3155

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

Gerrard going to Liverpool would be a diseaster at this stage. Liverpool need proven quality and not a wannabe Klopp. Gerrard has to prove himself before getting near the Liverpool job.

  23. @vonvex9438

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

Stevie should be Klopps right hand man. Like what Arteta is doing at City with Pep

  24. @romanoonamor7690

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

Why even talk about that?! Is Klopp doing a bad job?! If not, stop talking about replacing him. There are enough talks about sacking, firing, replacing in football, so let's not do it when the person is doing a fantastic job.

  25. @TheAtticusFinch

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

Why is this show called the debate?
Surely, random question with no real answer, is a more accurate make 🤷‍♂️

  26. @makaveli88888

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

If he cant win a pub league no thanks

  27. @danielhucky307

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

Gerrard won’t be anywhere near as good as klopp. Anfield is thriving off klopps enthusiasm and personality. Something gerrard doesn’t really have. Still he is a legend of the club so eventually you could see him getting it.

  28. @booklover6198

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

All the "so called"die hard Red fans on here! Of course Stevie will be a great Liverpool manager one day! What would you say about it if Klopp hadn't been so successful with the Reds? I am and always will be a true die hard reds fan and I love Steven Gerrard ! So, YES, he CAN, and he probably will replace Klopp one day!

  29. @whoopwhoop1207

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

He’s a Liverpool legend but he’s not good enough to be a Liverpool manager. Ide rather have Rafa of Rodgers back before Gerrard.

  30. @leesog3203

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

I d rather talk about what Klopp see's in Jordan Henderson.

Or rather, the enigma that is Jordan Henderson.

He's part of a winning team. In fact, he's at the heart of the best Liverpool team in Premier League history.

But still 70% of fans want rid of him.

The team clicks, but no one see's what good he does.

And still The Big German persists with him.

So the question is, what the hell does he see in him? When will he replace him? And if he does, will Liverpool be better off for it?

  31. @thefly5961

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

Gerard fanboys nowhere near good enough.

  32. @andrethomas7075

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

I'd rather Pep Lijnders become the eventual successor to Klopp. As Klopp's number 2, Pep would have much more of an understanding about what would be needed to continue in the way klopp has moulded this team. I think a new manager (Gerrard included) from outside the current backroom staff would cause too much disruption, where I believe Pep would just continue from where Klopp left off.

  33. @angelawright5571

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

No not for a few years yet.He needs experience. We all love him and what he did for lfc but we can't just hire someone on sentiment otherwise we may end up like man u with ole.

  34. @dougannnnn1

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

    Neville O'Shea or John Longbottom?

  35. @danielgilmore7367

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

Let us allow Gerrard to continue to develop himself as a manager/coach, he’s young and time is on his side, he’s doing really well up in Scotland with rangers and I’m sure he himself is learning every day, week and month that passes, and when he does eventually return to Liverpool as manager he will be ready to compete with Pep, and klopp to win major honours with us and hopefully become the most successful leader of Liverpool we’ve ever had.

  36. @emmekaigreen4682

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

Imagine kompany vs gerrard as managers 😂

  37. @amargunputh4049

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

Why everyone is bothering about klopp leaving because they know he will bring success to Liverpool which is bad for man uld

  38. @amidared812

    February 27, 2024 at 12:16 am

Short answer, NO. Long answer, No he won't.

  39. @studio-flash

As a die hard Liverpool fan…i hope not. Klopp forever.
