   I used to spend money on clothes now it's mostly make up and nailpolish but I really don't have that much. Clothing is still overwhelming but I only bought 5 things this year.

   For last 3-4 years I have a limit of 24 make up products per year. And I need to include every essential product in it (for example I don’t have any spare brow products so I need to remember about having a space for that). It worked well, but this year I’m whoa, that’s a lot 😂 I’m working from till the end of the year, so I use basically only tinted moisturizer and mascara and this make me feel that a) I don’t want anything b) I don’t use anything. So probably I will buy a lot less this year.

   I love make up and I've bought a shit ton of it and the one thing is I do love collecting tbh I have inherent a habit from my family so I can't help it but I do buy make up on sales and get deals and buy in bundles'SETS (I buy what I want and could use or worth it) so I do have a lot more. I do recive makeup from Family. Latey I've gone crazy with spending but going to be honest I will use it and I haven't woren makeup for months due to depression and other problems but I do once I'm happy I will use it but I definitely need to buy a vanity for makeup cause its just piled up in my room . but I aslo forgot to say I will never declutter my make up I still have my old makeup from highschool. Once I move out of my families house I will hace a room for it and therefore i can use all of it and tbh if i wasn't a Cruelty Free buyer I'd be fucked ( or I just don't like that person lol)

   I'm more of a minimalist that likes the same thing. So I'll buy the same thing over and over.

   That's exactly my position right know. I search a lot, save for the future what I like and suit my skintone and things because one, i don't have money, I'm still studing and don't work and second no one ship to my contry and third if they do everything will be more expensive then the most expensive brand because my money don't have any valiu.
   Mabelline and revlon have the same price that chantecaille. Literaly.

   I grew up in the 80s and 90s and everyone just used drugstore makeup. My first Sephora visit was abt 5 years ago when I developed horrible adult cystic acne and a friend recommended Peter Thomas Roth. I was hooked on the immense selection of brands I'd never heard of right away and my collection went from one small bag to a chest of drawers in a few years. It wasn't until then that I finally found a foundation that worked for my very fair skintone, which is MAC NW10. I used to buy a ton of products because it was all so new to me and I was figuring out what I liked and didn't but in the last year, I've really slowed down because nothing coming out is anything that I don't already have. The market is so saturated and I'm only seeing true creativity and innovation coming from indie brands which is what I've been buying lately. I never jumped onto the warm toned trend because they make me look sick and I stick to neutrals with the occasional pop of color so I don't buy rainbow or pastel palettes. I feel like I've curated my collection to where I'm happy with it and the majority of my new purchases are when I run out of something and want to try a different formula or color.

   I think beauty news has stopped my excessive spending. I was at a point and I would buy a new lipstick every week. Like what am I going to do with a 100+ lipsticks. I used them as blush. Thank you ladies for saving my pocket book

    Purchasing makeup has been a JOURNEY. When I was young, I didn't see people around me looking glam – at all – so I felt a little wrong about liking makeup. But when I moved to other places, mainly bigger cities, I started purchasing more makeup. At this point (40 yrs young), I know what flatters me and I mostly stick to that.

    I just found out about Project Pan this year. I forgot her name, but she's a Jamaican beauty channel out of NYC. I've been doing this all along, just didn't know it had a name. Hollyannaree taught me to have a tray of makeup on my bathroom vanity. Use it daily, then replenish from my collection. Cool idea. This week, I finished an ELF tinted lip balm.

    For years now, I only buy beauty on clearance. I still have a lot of makeup, skincare, nailcare and bath and body, but it's more manageable now.

    I think youtubers have a tendency to overemphasize how much the people who are watching are really concerned about whether or not they buy a new product. If that youtuber doesn't review a certain product I'm interested in there are going to be 1,000 other reviews so it doesn't matter to me. I know they want the views but when I hear people on YouTube complain about all the things they "have " to buy for their channel, I don't get it. At the end of the day watching YouTube is something most people do for a moment of entertainment, I'd rather watch a creator who creates the content they want with just the products they enjoy.

    Oh that dream matte foundation. It was one of my first. Very cakey. I loved make up from a young age with my grandma. She'd always get me things.

    For ages you could only buy stuff from Myer, DJs or Priceline. Then one shop called Kit came along and thats where all the cool kids would go to shop for stuff like Too Faced and UD.

    I feel like many of the YouTubers I've been watching for a while are creating more content using products they've had in their collection rather then just new things all the time. Jessica Braun stopped a lot of the PR sent to her because the amount was overwhelming and she found it wasn't always stuff she was interested in. A lot of people who watch You Tube beauty content (including myself) got caught up in all the excitement of new, and then just got overwhelmed. I found things like BN, watching declutters, and people doing videos of existing products helped people realize it just isn't neccessary. For me, having so much just about killed the joy and excitemenf of makeup.

    The best way I have found to work my "Use or Lose It" project pan stuff is to work it into my daily makeup looks. I rotate eyeshadow palettes through it, along with some of my multitude of liquid shadows/lipsticks just to provide some variety, but this is how I am able to use up things I've decided to use up mixed with things I enjoy. This method has helped me get through one primer, two foundations, and a powder that I otherwise wouldn't have messed with. It's also helped me see that a few things, like highlighters or eyeshadow palettes, that I really don't freakin like at all. Those I give to friends, or if they're older, I just toss them.

    I had to try a lot of makeup before I figured out what I really liked and what I wanted to use. It sucks but that’s the reality. There is so much out there now that it confuses us into not knowing what is best for our own selves.

    I project pan because i want to use up my current lower quality collection to make space for some better quality nice brands … make happier to have in my collection items since now i have more access to nice pretty brands that are not drug store that have better quality

    I recently purchased hourglass confession lipsticks, it was a holiday pack the nude was okay but the red in there 😍😍 it was soo good the formula was 😎👌🏻👌🏻 (used to live in a country that didn't have access to all the beautiful makeup since i moved i have more access to stuff and i am attempting to reign it in)

    I got back into makeup maybe 2 years ago? However, I'm someone who debates about something for an eternity before I buy it. My collection has stayed pretty small, since by time I'm ready to buy something, I'm already over it or it is out of stock and gone. I find beautynews helps me realize that it just another thing, it is no big deal if I miss out. Beautynews helps with fomo for me, personally.

    So I broke my no buy for lippies but I didn't spend much they where like .50 cent and the like. But I've been doing good with my hair and skin care no buy. Except I've got ipsy four of five months his year. But I've enjoyed what I got or gave my nan some to try. Lately I want palettes and I have a wish list of palettes but I have able 25-30 and I can't wear eye make-up everyday, because allergies. But I have been keeping it under control as best I can like I got two palettes Last week both less then a dollar because clearance and dollar store. But like on was hard candy so not "cheap" but I stopped myself from spending 50$ today on palettes just cause they where half price and on my wish list. I've used up shampoo and lotion and even like been using my lippies everyday. but doesn't stop me from wanting.

    I think I'm very lucky to have gone from makeup novice to 'I want to use all my stuff and it better wow me to be added to my new purchases" in just over a year. I think doing lots of research and just life experience (am a few years older than Kat n Haikey) has helped in that. Fiscally, I could buy ALLOFTHETHINGS but if it's not going to work for me then why bother? It's just a waste. Of resources, my time and money. Project panning has helped me find ways to make products work, sometimes not in their intended way, and also figure out what to get rid of permanrntly. I'm THIS CLOSE 👌 to fully using up my first ever blush and I can't wait! Bubbles will be had to celebrate on that day because that is a life achievement worth celebrating! ❤❤❤

    This is so fascinating! Also reassuring because as someone newer to makeup (last 3-4 years), I went through the exact same phases. First buy buy buy and then "what have I done" and then "oh.. I don't need that. I've got that. Now I can just… Play with what I have?" lol ❤️❤️

    I do love their geometric packaging though. Only have one but I WANT more (not need, WANT 😊).

    I used to be an Always on the Hunt for Something Better type, but now I'm only like that with mascara. I want to find what works for me and keep buying it, rather than constantly trying new things that might not work. (I'd still try new things that aren't like what I already have, though!)
