Going to Israel instead of calling BOTH SIDES, Palestinians and Israelis to seek a peaceful solution, He could, like Carter and Clinton before him, attempt to get both sides to attend peace talks. He might be saying that those talks ended with the Israelis accepting those terms but the Palestinians rejecting all offers. He is at no risk going there. Safe as in the white house.
