   I think the thing with blush has come so true – I personally am obsessed with blush🥰🥰 They are very trendy and popular🙌🏼 creamy formulas, cute duos etc

   With the eco friendly packaging I also think it will take a while to replace transparent plastic (cellophane is the only other option now). I own a webshop and shipping laws demand waterproof packaging, so I haven't found a good waterproof alternative yet. Same for things that need to be visible on display, so transparent packaging that is still sealed for hygienic reasons.

   I have been loving mini products since Sephora play boxes started, so mascaras, perfumes, primers, liners, shadows, skincare, haircare. It's super nice since I'm able to go through things and if I find a "holy grail", I can purchase the large size, but I feel like minis allow me to experience a trend without having to commit as long as a full size product requires.
   I wish for more sustainable packaging
   I wish for singles/mix and match pallets (yay mug)
   I wish for more instead of clean products, but truly 100% fair trade and cruelty free products (ie no slave mica)
   I wish for more transparency from brands

    I'm predicting that people will look for simple looking products like glossier or milk because of a) connivence and b) you'll only need a few products for a full face. I also predict the potential for minimal makeup with single eyeshadow looks and tinted moisturizers.

    I think cool tones will make a big comeback! Warm tones have been such a huge trend lately and it’s slowly ending. I hope the big blush look sticks around (that sunburn look)

    I think we're going to see a lot of people backing away from "natural" deodorants and returning to antiperspirant. With the rise of the anti-vaxx movement, a lot of people in reaction have gotten into science and what the facts are behind certain concepts. I think many people are realizing that there is no scientific backing for the concept that antiperspirant is bad, and will tire of the rashes/odors often associated with aluminum-free deodorants.

    Clean is actually a recognized term in the United States and is a verified and certified term. It has to lack a list of ingredients to be considered clean beauty. It is not based on fear. Now the fear mongering is based is made from the lack of research that parabens actually cause harm. But clean in itself is a term. The fear of parabens is yes a thing but clean beauty is not fear mongering.

    I feel like blue is one of those colors that people cringe at when in the context of makeup, but then they see different shades of blues and mixed with other cool tones and realize it’s not all the bright grandma makeup, it can be interesting and fun and look good. It’s blowing up again because people are learning how to make it look good now

    Funny enough, I'm waiting for a green and purple palette. Those happen to be the only two colors of eyeshadow my mom ever wears, and it's surprisingly hard to find them both in one pre-made palette. But I think they are stunning together, too!

    single eyeshadows are for special formulas. like liquid stila magnificent metals. or the super shocks from colourpop. but i agree, people don't usually buy individual pans.

    I don't care as much about "clean" makeup, but personally I'd love to see the concept of "fair trade" come to the beauty world in a much bigger way. Vetting suppliers to focus on sustainability for plant/animal ingredients, minimizing the environmental impact of mineral mining, and guaranteeing zero human rights abuse in the entire supply chain from source to finished product.
    I'd gladly pay more for decent quality products with a mark of approval from an organization that checks all this.

    1. Mini's would be awesome.. especially with eye and cheek products.. a person would feel less guilty about buying a smaller palette with the same contents.. just, not like Revlon's oblong shaped pans.. cos those things.. nah… it'd be great for testing foundations and concealers too..
    2. I am so unkeen for the PH adjusting lip product trend coming back.. I tried one when it was first a thing and discovered like everyone else that fuscia pink 'custom' pink doesn't suit me AT ALL… needless to say it was decluttered.. can we not do this again..
    3. If they ever want to pull of the clear packaging.. they'd have to do it like NARS, like that top layer on the NARS holiday collection where it looks like stars set in a layer of resin as opposed to plastic then they may have one's interest but just plain frosted n clear… keep it.. we don't want it!!!!!

    I think with Millenials coming of age to a more early to mid 30's age bracket, we will see more beauty targeted towards pregnancy and child care. So like baby lotions, 'mommy and me' targeted beauty items, etc. This is a sector I have yet to see in Sephora or from major cosmetic brands and it could be hugeeeee.

    My trend predictions: more “buzzwords”…. lots of claims that sound cool, but are hard to prove and don’t mean much. Lots more collaborations. Lots more tv/ movie/ pop culture brands x makeup. Lots of skincare/ makeup hybrids.

    I think more brands jumping on the “vegan bandwagon” without actually being vegan or cruelty free (certain skincare and body/ hair brands are already doing this!)

    Personalized makeup. For example capsule palettes for green eyes, blue eyes, brown eyes… I've seen this with indie brands, plus the new Makeup Geek re-lauch video teased the "Blue eyes quad" that you can put together. Also personalized skincare i.e. Neutrogena. I also agree with the cool neutral trend. If Natasha Denona released a cool nude mini palette, the big sister will come soon too

    This is definitely not a prediction but an idea that I think brands should do to appeal to the no buy/low buy/project panning market. They should print secret images or a phrase at the bottom of a pan so that it encourages us makeup junkies to actually use up product. I don’t know about everyone else but if I knew that it could possibly say “YOU WIN” at the bottom of an eyeshadow you best believe I’d be digging right in! Or cab you imagine how much sexier “#panporn” would be if there was an image of a hot top less man waiting underneath all that powder? If I owned a brand I’d be making the bottom of those pans more beautiful then product itself lol!

    I think there are alot of UK beauty youtubers who over the last 2 years have really embraced more natural looking base make up. So perhaps not as prevalent with the USA but here its taking off…

    I bought some items from Clionadh today and I am so excited because they are totally unique to my collection and it's the first beauty sale in 2 years where I was actually very excited. I had a list, an action plan to get my items when the sale went live before they sold out etc and I was mostly sucessful 😀
