   I distonctly rember they used to sell Daim with dark chocolate back in the day. I don't know where it went.

   In Sweden, we have many different products with Dajm, everything from sweets and cakes to ice cream.

   Dajm chocolate is also available in different sizes and packaging. We have the classic Dajm bar which is divided into two parts, we have smaller Dajm pieces in bulk and we have the smaller pieces prepackaged in bags. In Sweden, Daim balls are also sold which are much smaller, similar to sprinkles used as a topping on ice cream or in baked goods. 🍨

   There are one salted licorice that are saltier licorice then Djungelwrål and it´s called Svensk djävlar or in english swedish bastards. Not even we swedes can handle it.

   Salt licorice contains about 70 grams of ammonia per kilogram. According to an EU proposal presented in the spring of 2012, the maximum limit for salmiak in food would be lowered to 3 grams per kilo, which would mean a ban on salt licorice. Food companies, confectionery manufacturers and industry organizations in the Nordic countries have protested against the proposal and in the autumn of 2012 an exception was introduced for salt licorice. Salt licorice will therefore be allowed to remain.

   There are studies in animals that show that the substance glycyrrhizinic acid found in licorice can have anticarcinogenic effects, ie cancer prevention properties.

   According to many connoisseurs, the world's best licorice comes from Calabria in Italy.

    There's a video of Alexander Skarsgårds and and UK actress Anya Taylor-Joy trying out Djungelvrål and it's hilarious. She's so disgusted and kind of mad even. He just says it reminds him of childhood and pops one in his mouth. 😂
    We're conditioned and used to it. I could eat a handfull if I wanted to but as you noticed, one is enough to get the full sensation.

    Nöt cream was originaly made for topping cakes (or similar stuff) but we would just eat it straight out of the package.

    Actually, the Djungelvrål aren't shaped like just monkeys, and it's always a big shock to swedes when we realize.
    There's also a huge debate on whether the Ahlgrens cars are different flavours or not. Most people would say yes, but the company who makes them has said they're the same, bit of a mindfuck. I can always tell the difference while blindtesting, at least the white one.

    We have a pretty specific candy and food culture in sweden, most countries do, it's interesting to think about to me.
    We have everything on tube. Melted cheese, caviar, horseraddish, purés and so on. We like space food it seems.

    Oh I think I would love Sweden!! I'm a sweets addict 😁!! I don't think I would like that salty licorice though! I'm like you if I want salty then I want savory! The Aussie snack you sent her seem just like alot of U.S. snacks, I mean exactly like alot of U.S. snacks but we eat a bunch of candy and savory snacks both here, I'm sorry I don't think I would like the stuff you both love that Angie put on toast, I'd be willing to try it but I just don't think I would like it just spread on toast 😂!

    Okay, late comment is late but, Daim is pronounced Dahjm, or like the american coin Dime. 😉 We can get Daim McFlurry here in Sweden, which you definitely should try and recreate. Just smash some up on some vanilla ice cream. <3
