We need to see an update on some of this. I still have a coastal scents blush and highlight duo that I adore. Also, I think Glamglow ruined themselves with crappy products. The ingredients are horrid. Now Farsali is over as well (finally) What about ELF dethroning NYX?

In south Africa, Mac is still big. We dont really have most of the trendy branda here yet. Even urban decay left

I would say anothet market MAC has been replaced in is the drag queen market. Many working drag queens had day jobs at the MAC counter, and their pro quality, and open support of the LGBT community (especially with Viva Glam) cemented them as a makeup icon within the community. Even though they are still revered for their history, i think they have been replaced by ABH. A lot of that is due to ABH’s long running sponsorship of Drag Race (every queen gets a “sickening supply”) and the way drag race has for better and worse shaped how people view drag. The show has caused many drag queens to rely on their products, and they’ve acknowledged it through collabs with Alyssa Edwards and sponsoring pride events

Glow Recipe is also one of the first brands to not only ride the whole skincare renaissance wave that was started by The Ordinary by clearly stating the active ingredients in each products in the product names, but also turn skincare into an experience. Hence the gorgeous packaging and the scents. That's exactly the direction skincare is heading in right now, given the fact that skincare tools are becoming more widely available. Not only the well-known jade roller, but also other massage tools (mostly Japanese and Korean).

I really wish people when talking about juvias place, mentioned that with lower cost came some pretty bad ingridients like methylparaben which is a cancer causing ingridient, it's not in all shadows but some and it's important to notice that sometimes performance isn't all in all. Ingredients that are known cancer causing or generally very bad, should be mentioned.

Hourglass has really become a staple in my makeup collection, because they check all the boxes of being great quality, cruelty free, and very travel friendly. I love every product I’ve used from them.

I have completely blonde eyebrows so I color them in every day; Benefit never worked for me, ABH was always out of my price range when they were popular, so I've been doing my eyebrows with eyeshadow and a small angled brush since 2010 xD

I used to love Urban Decay and MAC and now i think they are so boring compared to indie brands. My first palette was the Urban Decay Book of Shadows vol. 1 in 2008. I loved that it was so colorful and shimmery but now i hate glitter in eyeshadows. Before Urban Decay MAC was the place you would go if you wanted pigmented bright eyeshadows. I like some of their neutrals but most of their collections are more about the gorgeous packaging and less about being colorful.

I am a MAC lover. Still buy it and still wear it. I never really find the quality and longevity of the shadows, both wearing and using up in the pan. But I've come to love Huda and the Norvina collection.

The Naked is so massive that tons of my clients that are not into makeup think that the brand is called Naked.
Oh what a flashback with Coastal Scents (they were Morphe basically), Sleek and I'd say BH falls there too
