    Looking back at this
How was that a pen in newcastle vs psg
It was a similar incident off his thought onto his arm yet it was given in the champions league but the same incident was never considered in the prem we need consistency in refereeing across all competitions

VAR HAS GOT TO GO… MOST KEY DECISIONS IN FOOTBALL ARE DEBATABLE & RESULT IN DIFFERENT OPINIONS..ITS USELESS, ALL IT DOES IS SLOW THE GAME DOWN AND STOP CELEBRATING GOALS

  3. @whatmatters683

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

Howard and his mates at Sky, how are you feeling now Howard after Spurs Liverpool game, you still such a smooth media orator?

  4. @majidkhan89

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

Here after the Tottenham v Liverpool game. Need audio in some of these horrible decisions made in that game.

  5. @jaydelboyclayton4356

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

I can totally understand how on field refs can get decisions wrong on how quick stuff happens in game but how var gets stuff wrong totally baffles me

Moved his arm towards the balls direction if it never hit his arm it's going towards goal

I'd like to hear Onana vs Wolves discussion. "Yeh he just wiped him clean out, no no its not worth looking at"

  8. @teeman2023

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

Am I blind… at no point did the ball hit his thigh. His shirt moved because he was in motion. Look at the moon landings !!!

  9. @tommcglone2867

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

This should be standard. Rugby has this as standard. And you understand whats going on with the officiating. This shows a great example of VAR doing its job. They analysed the incident and came to the correct decision

  10. @lvpbadger4504

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

So they can do it for the easy ones which don’t hinder a games outcome, but ones like LFC and unites game they won’t release footage and explaination

  11. @danielfisher7484

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

It is great to see this and the clarity, we also need to be shown how some of the clearly wrong decisions were made and over turned or not. What I don't understand in this instance is the VAR officials made the decision clearly, why waste the time of getting the on field referee to look on the monitor?
A lot of the frustration from people with VAR is the time it wastes, this could be one way of helping this.

  12. @truecockney438

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

Why didn’t they show West Ham blatant pen against Man Utd and Liverpool where the defenders put their arm away from the bodies and the ref didn’t even go to check it’s probably because West Ham ain’t one of the sky top six and the other’s are

I personally disagree with the rule but it was correctly applied, however, the PL/PGMOL do seem to be only releasing the ones which they got right.

  15. @ella6547

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

I think this is the first step into ensuring managers and players being aggressively sanctioned for abuse.
Give the information out, admit mistakes (so opta can keep track) but use this to reign in the awful attitude of people like Klopp who think it's okay to abuse officials.
If Football behaved like other professional sports it'd be wonderful.

  16. @azizrampage

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

what about the Arsenal vs Brentford game when Lee Mason forgot to draw the lines , show us that recording

  17. @davidendsor219

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

The commentary was excellent and led to the correct decision. We must learn to trust the officials and we must stop official abuse, its not going to change the outcome.

  18. @hagan13

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

yeah theyve just picked this one to release cos they're confident its right, maybe show us the rest that were complete blunders VAR is a brilliant piece of kit but its the baffoons that use it

  19. @Win-xl7no

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

This decision went for my team, but i dont like it all, and still the actual audio shows how much of an old boys club it is. Far too chummy, and almost unconscious bias leading them to how they make a final decision. God knows what the audio sounds like on some of the other decisions, carnage i imagine.

  20. @adamgrimsley2900

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

Ok fine, but this Var is such a crocm

  21. @ratastewie91

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

Microphone too close to his mouth. It's like being in a teams call at work. There's always one breathing into the mic.

  22. @markw4613

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

I have 3 issues with VAR: firstly if there's lengthy review you'd expect them to be getting it right 99.99% of the time, if its a quicker review you can understand there being some incorrect VAR calls – its a trade off, whats not acceptable is lengthy reviews to then make the wrong decision.

The second issue is the obvious one – its the consistency around it. There is no doubt in my mind that opinion plays a large part on what people see on the screen and this goes for pundits and VAR refs as well clearly.

The third issue I have is with offside decisions – they are selecting a single frame and drawing precise lines, which is just ridiculous. The recent Liverpool goal is a great example where they stop the footage and show Evans foot is playing Jones onside. However, if you watch the sequence play out and look at the stills they used for offside its clearly not when the ball actually left Salah's foot. That's a massive flaw that they need to fix.

  23. @madixon1981

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

I wasn't keen on them looking for other reasons to disallow the pen if the incident was an actual hand ball.

Correct call in the end despite that.

  24. @mastertrams

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

Why isn't this in football's VAR by default? Cricket has it, Rugby has it, and their versions of VAR aren't hated by the fans. Football's VAR doesn't have it, and is (ok, maybe not hated) disliked by the fans. Is there not a pattern there?

  25. @ivorscrotumic3556

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

This should be available for EVERY VAR decision. Without exception.
Supporters have been screaming out for transparency & accountability for ages now.

  26. @stanleyplank

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

All the crowd could have nipped to the toilet it took that long

  27. @YTSqwid

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

Now release footage of a VAR howler.

  28. @Blooisthecolour

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

‘Clear and obvious error’ needs getting rid of – just make the right decision.

  29. @Blooisthecolour

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

No wonder the var checks take so long – all this nonsense for what? Infuriating!!! Can see it hits the thigh – tell the ref and move on. They take forever to make the decision. Needs speeding up absolutely awful.

  30. @GLAZERSOUTGGMU

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

Wow. This is so corrupt!! Such subjective BS decisions being made!

  32. @spig3547

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

If this happened for ALL decisions after ALL games people would be way happier and much less angry about decisions.

  33. @cs0rpc

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

Don’t understand why it hitting his thigh first should make a difference. It’s his thigh that he is in control of, if it deflects onto his arms that could have been behind his back then that’s the risk you take by leaving it at your side.

  34. @mattswinnerton9892

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

Point A make the rules more simple, play ball to hand not hypothetically is his arm in a natural position. Point B give us this live, they do in rugby. People don’t mind as much if they can hear and understand what the thought process is. They might disagree but no one is left in the dark. Sky would also create a position of importance and another voice being heard so they get money which is all they want

  35. @raindancer80

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

I would LOVE to hear the audio from the disallowed goal between Newcastle and Crystal Palace earlier in the season. It's all very well them giving us audio when they get it right, but I'd like to know what is going through minds when they mess it up.

  36. @yolo1690UDA

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

you have to think were the ball goes if it dont hit the arm

  37. @muhammadyusuftaahaislam8926

would like to see the soucek handball vs chelsea.

  38. @daveyharve

    February 8, 2024 at 7:44 pm

I like the transparency. I wonder if the on field review is really necessary especially as the pitch side screen won’t have the same clarity due to glare and reflections.
