An alarming new report reveals how leading carmakers are at high risk of using aluminium produced by forced labour in China’s Xinjiang province. According to a Human Rights Watch report, as much as one-fifth of China’s aluminium is produced by smelters in Xinjiang. Here, over a million ethnic minority Muslims have been subjected to internment as well as other abuses.
