    Who’s watching this after the loss to Bournemouth? Didn’t understand this then, but 5 years of studying players and how different clubs went about building their teams later, this hits so different and rings so true. He was right, fixing United is about way more than the manager, it’s not going to be a quick fix at all, and it starts with the players, with building a better squad. Sir Alex understood when he arrived that we needed to build a better pipeline of young talent from our academy and a strong network of scouts to identify quality players to recruit. Our “investments from the past” over the last 12-13 years is why we’re where we are right now. Not recruiting well, not developing enough talented youngsters, not moving players on, it’s so evident. We were at 4 managers in 7 years when he said this, we’ve had 8 in the last 10…it ain’t the manager.
