   Actually a lot of them they have insurance kaigo insurance but the problem is the government don’t do their job it’s a lot of something fishy in their system in the government . I believe the government has the responsibility of that

    There is a distinct tendency to want to vilify the Japanese as a people over a story like this. My guess is that we are not hearing the whole story of these individual families. This is a badly done video that gives no nuance or depth in describing these situations. An 86 year old man who strangles his 81 year old wife sounds horrible, but what if she was in terrible pain and begged to die rather than be a burden to her even older spouse? This is a very judgmental and possibly racist story with no cultural or individual or historical context given.

    I lost my mom last year after taking care for her for 7 years. I missed her so much and feel blessed have the opportunity to be with her until her last day. She died at 89 yo. ❤❤❤

    This is what happens when a generation only has one child, and 1/2 of a generation is aborted. You end up with no one left as the majority ages.
    This is what is happening real-time in MOST of the world.
    When have no hope and tell people there is no God with higher truth and morality this is the world you make.

    I have a hard time believing that because Japan has such a high degree of respect for the elderly, but it does seem entirely plausible that they are doing that.

    I would much prefer to be taken into the mountains in mid-winter and fall asleep in the snow than die in a sterile, artificially-lighted room, with no fresh air or scent of trees, attached by tubes to bottles and machines. You show no understanding of the Japanese tradition. It is not perceived as murder, but was a recognition of when the time had come to die, while still having some dignity.

    Japanese government should have a place. Preferably a warehouse. Where old people can come to and have assisted suicide. I think that using a guillotine is 1 of best options. The blade is very heavy, hard, and sharp. They wouldn't feel any pain. Still, I think that young people should take care of their elderly relatives.

    In india too my sister in law's mother and siblings killied their dad in chennai. The wife ,that aunty was too tired to yake care of her husband.

    Well…. I guess I never considered the one benefit of being raised by a narcissistic mother with subclincal BPD traits and other abusive behaviors is that I don’t have feel guilty about putting her in a home/leaving her to her own devices when she finally can no longer take care of herself— thus saving myself and husband from the stress of taking care of her / the guilt of not taking care of her.

    Can’t imagine being pushed to harm her but I’ve read studies that extreme stress can trigger brief psychosis episodes

    In India the women had a very special role to play at home _. Seeing to the SMOOTH running of the household while the men went out and worked to bring in the finances. Now with multi nationals in India, we have left this important role to chase after money. Kids are therefore no longer cared for at home but a money spinning conglomerate and thus like the Western society, babies, children, the elderly are now helping the economy with budinesses set up to take care of the new born baby or the 1 year infant or the 60 year old ending up as a source of revenue. Welcome to the Western way of life! Family and home no longer matter.
