   In 1980s we did not think we will not be able to drink water from street end tap or a tap in a rly stn in a few decades hence. We'll, that is now a reality. Mars or Earth rotating faster may not be alarming as yet, but that day is sure to dawn for people (may not be we) to be alarmed about!

   You'd think that it was more likely due to the effects of gravity in a solar system-level set of variables, with so many planetary bodies involved in a complex gravitational 'dance' with each other.

    Universe is such a dangerous place. There are asteroids meteoroids. We are living in a very safe place in the universe. But in future humanity may face lot of dangers like asteroids hitting planet earth. We may face other dangers like melting of polar ice caps.
