   Imagine Cole Palmer, Bellingham, and Mainoo in a midfield 3.
   What a world England has at the moment with so many top class midfielders like Foden, Saka, Rice, Lewis, Bellingham, Mainoo, Trent, Palmer.

   I think England should play with 2 no 10 as bellingham and foden and Jon stones should play double pivot with rice creating a box . As walker shaw and tomori as three centre back.

   The other way is for Southgate to play Bellingham alongside Rice in the double pivot and Foden in the 10 position behind Kane. That way he can play Saka as well on the right. But he has to sort out his centre backs and they have to have more mobility and get the ball forward more quickly., either carrying the ball forward or progressively passing it. No point all this sideways passing and keeping the ball at the back, and getting around low block teams around the sides. You know it's not working when Kane drops deep because he's not getting the ball.

    I'm American but I've been watching football since the early 90s. Bellingham is the best English player I've seen since Michael Owen's Ballon d'Or season.

    Replace Foden with Maddison. Honestly no hate but Foden ALWAYS hides when playing for England that’s why the Saka debate shouldn’t even be one. The latter is better

    Non one else think with the lack of a world class lb we should go to 3 at the back in a 3-4-3 with carras midfield plus Trent to make play with 4 cms. With stones,Gomez and try get white to want to play under Southgate for the 3
    And could go palmer, saka, Kane up top the best team we could field in my opinion

    Someone would have to always drop back to recieve declan rice's sideway pass leaving one mid man possibly in an attacking position leading to slow wing play up the field. Which kind of minimizes the advantages of utility of space the midfield combination thrives on

    Do England have the central defenders to play Trent at RB and have him come inside to the midfield? Probably not. Works at liverpool due to Konate and Van Dijk being so physically dominant. Stones and Maguire can't defend such wide spaces that Trent would leave on his side. Can't think of anyone else in the England team who could compensate. Ben White can't get a look in. Guehi? Good ball-player, not a big space defender. Just don't think England have the dominant defenders to compensate for Trent. Happy to take suggestions.

    no need to play 2 sitters if TAA isnt at rb. we dont have 2 class sitters for a start and trent isnt ''weakening'' us at the back so. if rashford can start and foden doesnt then why even watch.
