Noticed some people are confused on why the goal is considered controversial. It's because Ollie Watkin's arm makes contact with De Gea's arm which is interfering with De Gea's ability to dive and move his left arm higher than his right arm in order to make the save, which is normally not a foul but Watkins is offside. Watkin's is essentially obstructing De Gea's path, by blocking his left arm movement. Mike Dean did not give the offside because De Gea does not attempt to make that movement, had he tried to jump whilst Watkins was making contact with his arm the goal would not have stood. This same ruling came into affect in United vs City this season where Marcus Rashford is adjudged to not be interfering with other players paths because they don't try to run into that path. You have to actually run into the player for it to be offside. De Gea pushes up against Watkins and is obstructed by him but this happens before Watkins becomes offside (when Hause heads the ball)

I’ve got to say it was a good goal by Villa, and they knocked us right of hope the moment they scored, and, I can’t admit it was a free ticket out of the UCL for Utd and, I was just offended by Villa fans mocking Cristiano Ronaldo, by doing a “SUIIII” In a silly way, and a 78 yr old man came in and joined in to, even though he supports Liverpool, it is all because of Steven Gerrard, former Liverpool player. Sucks to be a Liverpool fan. Ohhhhhhh

I think CR7 should take Pens, no offence Bruno, but I am Utd’s biggest fan going to every game, and you miss a lot, and CR7 is the best for Utd. Sorry, if you are offended in any sort of way by this comment
