South Korean Ex-first Lady Kim Keon Hee Convicted in Bribery Case, Gets 7 Yrs in Jail | GRAVITAS
Kim Keon Hee, who served as South Korea’s First Lady from 2022 to 2025, has been sentenced to seven years in prison after being convicted in a high-profile bribery case linked to a “jobs-for-gifts” scandal.
She was arrested in August 2025 and had earlier received a four-year sentence in a separate case, deepening one of South Korea’s most closely watched political corruption investigations.
The ruling marks a major development in a case that has shaken South Korea’s political establishment and raised questions over influence, privilege and accountability at the highest levels.

The west opened up to China and invested in China in the sadly naïve belief that international trade and the prosperity it delivered would promote a more democratic less authoritarian China.
The opposite has proven to be true. China has used the profits from trade to finance its military build up, its repression of its own people, and its efforts to undermine and destabilise other countries. It may respect physical international borders but it is dedicated to controlling other countries via collaborators and gangsters infiltrated into their political systems.
The path forward now is the economic isolation of China by the west. All supply chains will now be relocated outside China. Even individual consumers are beginning to ask for non-Chinese sources of products before purchasing anything.
So get Apple out of China because as long as iPhone are made there Apple will lose market share to alternatives not made in China.
