Just my opinion but when Le Tiss, Phil Thompson and Charlie Nicholas left, the show lost some of its spark. Now Jeff’s leaving, the show really won’t be the same. A bit like after Tim Lovejoy and Helen left Soccer AM. The crew they had 20 odd years ago just made for some great Saturday morning telly. The old clips of both Soccer Saturday and Soccer AM on You Tube are great memories of that era.

I remember going to my uncles house every Saturday from 2004 – 2008 when I was a kid. He’d always switch the channel to briefly check this programme. Jeff Stelling was a face I always remembered because of that. It’s a shame he’s leaving but like he said, no point in carrying on as he’s getting on in life. All the best.

What would be great is to have Matt Le Tissier, Paul Merson,Thommo and Charlie Nicholas back together for 1 more time before Jeff leaves
