Messi was forced to stay, but the headlines say U-turn. He still expressed his desire to leave but staying with no option left. He clearly spoke everything in his interview yet the levels of journalism for few hits. Can't understand why do they think views doesn't come when only truth and right perspective is spoken

U-turn just like the one he made in 2016 for Argentina after they lost to Chile.

Best decision ever. Glad dad talked some sense into him is what i imagine happened. Just play the remaining year and avoid the headaches, distractions and financial burdens. This is good…means his head will be focused on soccer, nothing else 👍 this will motivate him to give it his all.

I mean if they sold Messi this year to city for a large sum with a player exchange like Bernardo Silva or Riyad Mahrez, they could have been rebuilding for a new era with the right manager of course. Football is a team game, you don't need a Ronaldo or Messi to win trophies just a bunch of good collective players, Bayern and Liverpool showed that. Now he will be leaving on a free next summer

Imagine handing in your one week notice at work to then decide to not take the new job and stay with your current company,

To then come back Monday to see your bosses outside in the car park documenting your return 😂😂

Barca gives Messi everything. It's disappointing if Messi believes the current squad is not good enough to win the CL.

C7 wins everything with RM, boomed by his own fans, then join an average Juventus team with average chance to win the CL.

Bartomeu and the entire board should resign. It's time for election. This is no way to treat the greatest player ever played for the club.

It wasn’t a U-turn decision… he didn’t want to drag Barca to court so he will stay at Barca for the last year of his contract because he knows that no one can afford 700 million.

Not a "U-turn decision". He was essentially forced to stay.
