All treat homelessness like comedy. All residents who voted for non-sense representatives should be held accountable.

  35. @845835

    February 23, 2024 at 6:39 am

Let's look at some of the most obvious reasons in no particular order.

    1. Drug addiction is not only rampant, but the new policy of decriminalization has in fact caused it to escalate. Drug addiction is not a victimless crime! Drug addiction increases crime and destroys entire neighborhoods.

    2. Mental illnesses is also rampant, especially in the homeless community and the current policy of every state is a revolving door at the hospital emergency room and/or letting them live on the streets or in hotels/motels that have pretty much been converted into homeless shelters.

    3. The leadership of places like San Francisco have 100% culpability for the situation. Their attitude was to be kind to a fault. Much like Skid Row in LA and what's been happening in Philadelphia it's not smart to let homeless drug addicts and those with mental illness create their own lawless shanty towns. South Park's Night of the Living Homeless perfectly points this out.

    4. Uncontrolled immigration and sanctuary cities. California and NYC has learned what can happen when a place wants to look more generous than other cities and puts out the welcome mat without truly thinking about the consequences. Many people think the current situation is because Trump was right with his heavy fisted border policies, but the truth is his policies created a situation where those looking to enter the United States were becoming a desperate backlog and what to do with Trump's massive draconian incarceration was going to fall into the lap of the next President. Biden didn’t walk into office inheriting a well oiled and controlled situation at the border and anyone who thinks he did is an id!0t.

    5. The destruction of the American Middle Class. This did not happen rapidly in the past decade, but instead we can clearly see going back to Reagan how we got here with failed destructive policies like trickle down economics, stagnant minimum wage, the ending of post depression financial laws that eventually lead to the 2008 financial disaster that only Wall Street and Corporate America truly recovered from thanks to Washington DC bailing them out while giving nothing to the average person, and let's not forget how Corporate America with the help of politicians have been waging a war to end unions in favor of high turnover slave labor temp agency type jobs (Nikki Haley is a huge fan of this). A state like South Carolina has passed legislation that has pretty much made it impossible for workers to ever reach retirement. Every month we are told how many jobs were added but no one tells you that they are exactly that JOBS and not careers with livable salaries, real health benefits, and can realistically lead to retirement. So yea, Capitalism as we have come to know it has lead to massive wealth for the 1% who DO NOT PAY TAXES and the destruction of the Middle Class, which has in fact lead to increased homelessness, drug addiction, and mental health breakdowns.

Now let's hear what self anointed geniuses think there's an easy fix and Trump has all the answers.
