   14-19 Chelsea had the same net spend as spurs but I bet theres 6+ major trophies in there also. He will get that extra push at Chelsea but he has to step up the trophy return

    The kind of spending the club is willing to do tells us about their ambitions. I think Spurs can't be considered to be in the top 6 if all they have is a rich owner who only cares about income, even bringing Bale into the squad this season feels like a PR stunt to get the fans excited and wasn't really made to help the team in anyway because the real money was needed to solve the defensive issues we have right now.

    I think this is a learning thing for any prem team, don't have a new stadium, learn from the mistakes of spurs, WEST HAM and ARSENAL, and even Man City (lucky they have an owner who will still spend). Just expand it, make new stands, keep fans at least 3m from the pitch.
