It shows how hyperbolic and reactionary Jamie Carragher is. David Luiz went on to dominate in a semi final and final and is now our best CB. Arteta is coaching his players to be better rather than discard and buy another.

But is David Luiz coming in to help the younger guys in the back room rather than playing? He goes alright against limp teams and is often a source for penetration going forward. I think he has one year left there provided he takes a pay cut knows his role… I wouldnt be playing him much. Bit like JT's last year at Chelsea…

It just goes to show that Arsenal are no longer a big club, they should never be buying players like David Luiz in the first place. It's like Gordon Ramsey buying meat that's past it's sell by date only because it's cheap.
But the biggest joke of all is having an apprentice as their manager!

Luiz always relied on his pace, what happen with pace when you get older? yes.
All older CB's that manage to keep up have good positioning and anticipation that helps them to perform without the pace. He is finished no doubt about it.
