Understand the Jamie point, but at the same time Roy is right too, Ronaldo is made for big games. He is the one who can change the course of the game. Yeah, u can bench him some games but big games and derbies, ronaldo should start

Jamie understands differences between scoring goals and playing, run the game. 3:34 Yes , goal scoring makes difference, helps u win, but what about game as to be technically, visually and emotionally beautiful sport?
Just scoring doesn’t fix problems that some teams have. Tap in goals and penalties just easy way to win.
Carra knows and feels the difference!

A 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo at the end of that season
    – Top goal scorer for United in the league
Top goal scorer for United in the UCL
-Second highest goalscorer in the league

Carragher is really struggling to hide that agenda he's had against the man since 2006.
Also the fact he keeps mentioning Messi really doesn't help it either

I love Ronaldo, always have enjoyed watching him succeed and I always root for him. But he didn’t score for a lot of games before he was benched. He doesn’t press effectively, which makes him a liability more or less with no goals and no role in the press. United brought in Ronaldo when Ole was the manager and ETH had nothing to do with it. So saying “you don’t bring Ronaldo and put him on the bench” makes zero sense when it wasn’t the current manager’s call to bring him in. Not his call so not his problem

The problem was managers used to Ronaldo to set out an example for others, but it was unnecessary as Ronaldo himself was performing amazingly, but they wanted to use his fame and his name to make sure rest of the players knew their place. A very bad approach as they hurt themself by doing so only weak-minded people think like that and Roy Keane is absolutely right here. Cara is one of those weak-minded low mentality people.

Carragher saying that they need to win now and using Ronaldo as a fault to this is so hypocritical. What about Ten hag, what about all his signings. Hold them up to the same standard. Don't use Ronaldo as the scape goat. He scored the goals, they knew what they signed, a goal scorer. Learn how to use him. Don't keep him on if you don't want to use him.
Kaene is Spot on. Cool Ten hag won a small trophy, now they are struggling, and his tactics don't seem to be getting better despite the time and signings. Not saying he wont get better and Man U won't get better under him. But the criticism for Ronaldo is mainly because of his mentality and hate on him, not giving him time.

People where scared that he wasn't a good signing jumping into conclusions because of his age and ego but they failed to see the big picture of Ronaldo. Give him time and he will give back. Jamie lost every ounce of respect for me when he decided to criticize Ronaldo over his seasons at Man U. Man U has been struggling for a while before Ronaldo and they had ""good moments" but not consistent moments. They are desperate to get back to the good ol' days and bringing Ronaldo was the perfect scape goat situation for them. Shame on the people blaming Ronaldo for this. People who say see the big picture under ten hag failed to see the big picture under Ronaldo. The man that did everything for you and did everything after you. Man U fans that keep blaming Ronaldo, get level headed and see that Ronaldo was never the problem it was massively bigger than him, but it was easy to blame Ronaldo.

Ronaldo will continue to get criticized because of his personalty that many find offensive but it was that personality that made him give his 100% in 4 different clubs, 4 different challenges, with everything telling him he's done. Yet he is still going. Judge him for playing in Al Nassr yet at 38 he is still creating legacy and has done more for football than most players wayyyy younger than him. Keep finding reasons to say he was the problem you have an agenda or are bored

Carragher comparing ronaldo to other players who achieved nothing is a crime.
Man won everything an individual can win in football, led his country to it's first trophy in the euro, is going down as one of the best if not the best to ever play.
The only reason he came to united and not city, even though he would be winning the premiere league and maybe even the champions league with them is because he wants to help united, he had better options, the least they could have done is start him on big games.
