   If you think China has not planted electronic switching in the devices and programs the manufacturer you haven’t been paying attention. What sort of chaos would be created if the could switch off tens of millions of cellphones in America? Crash our banking system if it goes all digital? Shut down telecommunications in America?

    has much as I do think we do need to stop using tik tokk, can't help but feel if the government can o ban an entire platform…then what would stop them from banning any other platform if they present a strong enough case.

    Congress needs to do something about many of our government bureaucracies, which seem to be more in control of our country now than even Congress. Definitely needs a wholesale cleanup in them, if even all of them should still remain, which is highly questionable. Part of the problem began when the Spoils System manner of working in these were changed, The Spoils System had it's problems too of course, but what we have now are so ensconced for life working in them, they realize they are almost untouchable, no matter what they are doing. The collusion between some of them, is outrageous, especially politically, which they are supposed to be free from, at least from being used in such a manner. When you have someone like Adam Schiff was, when he was head of the Congressional Intelligence Committee, just adds to the problems. I think many who have given up on voting, believe nothing they do on a ballot will ever change things and bring freedom, liberty, and respect and adherence to a goverment of "We The People" back to us. It's become "We The Government" versus "We The People".

    Taibbi asked "What do you about these platforms"? The answer is simple. STAY OFF THEM! Used to be, things like happens on these platforms would have been called "wire tapping" during days of landline phones, needing a court order to do so. These platforms gather so much information on YOU, that far exceeds "wire tapping" today. None of them can or should be trusted with your data. For instance, they shouldn't even have your phone number, but many demand it to even be on them. Some at least still let you use just a PIN, but all you do on the platforms are gathered, stored, and can and often perhaps shared with other organizations. Ever look for an item at one store's site, and then later you are inundated with ads for that product from almost every other site you visit? That itself, the least offensive, should be enough clue about how pervasive is information on you, what you want, what you are buying, where you are taking vacation, and everything about you is recorded and shared.

    WRONG! Matt is a long time liberal that only recently discovered free speech. Conservative talk radio was a move to counter lack of media free speech many many decades ago. That free speech suppression was alway the left and neocon republicans. The right and libertarians have always been free speech advocates. Liberal only like to protect their free speech.
