Hey guys, we weren't very clear in the discussion but we were discussing Kathleen as a large social influencer and not just the average person on the street. Yes the average person on the street needs to be careful what they say too, but the standard is much higher for Kathleen being a large Youtuber and the face of a brand.

I understand about them thinking they are "taking the word and their power back", but wouldn't it make more sense to just get rid of the disgusting, negative word altogether? I hate the fucking word myself, no matter how it's used. And totally sick of rap songs using it thousands of times per song, it's disgusting. Maybe then there wouldn't be such confusion? I'm sick so I'm super late this week in watching this. A lot of beauty influencers come across as really stupid kids to me (I'm nearing "get off my lawn" age). They've doing some of the stupid things I did when in my 20s (except that I don't spew racist slurs when drunk), but they're doing it on camera. I really think this hurts them in the long run. It hurts their credibility, it hurts their young audience, and it can even hurt their future as these videos don't go away. Having a fun time is fine, but I think they also need to view youtube/social media as part of their job. So…maybe only get sloshed during the holidays? Something like that. It's so dumb when people say "my fans know I am not like that" when it's someone who has never spoke on the issue. A tiny tiny few beauty bloggers have made videos recently about the racism creeping back into America's mainstream and the rest have been pretty silent. Like why would we assume you're so against bigotry of any kind when you never speak on it, as to not make any supporters that might be racist stop watching your shit. I don't know about most youtubers social beliefs because they don't have the backbone to use their platform to speak on anything for the most part.
