No sorry he should be held accountable, he wasn't just rubbish this year but end of last year too including the Champions League final which he didn't show up for either. As for not winning throphy's he is as much to blame any anyone else, often failed in the big games.

His amazing FK reputation is well over rated, scored 1 in the last 4 years with us and TOOK THEM ALL, Greedy and a Sulk, Good Riddance but thanks for the memories.

Also in his last 2 years I think you can count on one hand how many times he beat the first man with a corner, shocking, adios!

The truth is that eversince mourinho lost 5-0 to Barçelona in the clasico during his Real days, he has always been extra cautious and defensive when playing against the bigger sides. His reactive brand of football is also reflective of this change, as he always looks to capitalize in the opposition's mistake in order to score.
In addition, modern football is based on taking the initiative and coaching attacking patterns of play, something which mourinho never coaches or puts an emphasis on. But the one trait that he has not lost is that he can still identify, expose and exploit an opposition's weakness effectively on a given day so I would not write him off completely.

Levy is to blame. Didnt give him a fair contract while he was the best player in the team. Spurs legend and a disgrace how he been treated by the fans.

Eriksen is one of classiest guys out there. The way he's been treated has been absolutely appalling . He doesn't publicly go and slander people within the club, even though he could over the shocking treatment he's received from fans and people withing the club. He stayed classy and that earned him a move to inter where he's going do big things and probably win a trophy sometime down the line.

Eriksen was treated with so much disrespect, even if he was the one who made Kane’s and Deles goals possible. Good for him that he moved on…

Eriksen’s situation reminded me a lot of Luka Modric. 2 maestro’s in midfield, Spurs greats, and both decided to publicly express a desire to leave. Luka had only recently signed a 5 year contract, whereas Eriksen had just over a year left to run, and Luka made the catastrophic error of asking to join a rival and taking on Daniel Levy. Neither got their wish and were forced to stay at Spurs another season, but whilst Luka got stick on social media I don’t remember him ever really getting booed. The thing is, whilst Luka’s levels were not quite as high as before, he was still a great player for Spurs in that final season and, once he was told that he is staying at Spurs and not going to Chelsea, he responded by smashing the ball into the top corner against Liverpool. Luka ultimately earned a move to Real Madrid and went on to become a champion. Whilst a section of Spurs fans never forgave Modric for that Chelsea outburst, he never really received the “treatment” Eriksen has in recent months. Let’s be clear here too, it is only recently that Eriksen has been booed and he has been beyond poor for well over a year now. If Modric, despite the position he put himself, was able to come back to Spurs and play the way he did then Eriksen has no real excuses for his performances, especially when he seemed able enough to go on international duty and put a shift in for Denmark when required. As such, Eriksen finds himself at Inter Milan and not at the place we all know he saw himself, at either Real or Barca

Im also worried about a move to Inter, if they cant "teach" Christian to get out of that "stun" effect from Levi, they might not get THAT Eriksen we all know, it requires different training. Poch was sacked and Jose was their new manager, if Jose cant create that vital winning culture or mentally get players back to top, he will have to struggle too. Tactic is useless if people dont believe. I have to admit that the Tottenham supporters have been and are amazing, i almost get these "goosebumbs" when i hear them sing and support their team, really really good job. Levi should be paying you instead of charging you for that support, No matter what happends with Eriksen, i still hope to see Tottenham as a top club atleast in PL. Tottenham vs Norwich = 2 – 0 Son and Moura as goalscorer and Eriksen with 1 assist 🙂

I never support booing players, but Eriksen downed tools last February, and has been terrible ever since. Eriksen had more assists and key passes than any player in the prem since he arrived by some distance, suddenly he can’t string two passes together. He didn’t even show up in two quarter finals, two semi finals or a final of the champions league. That is supposed to be the dream of any player to score the winner in a champions league final, he may never play in another yet he didn’t show up. Now he’s moving to a lesser squad in Italy who have a favourable tax situation. It’s perplexing. Really strange situation but can understand the fans frustration, which I think is more to do with the fact he keeps being started game after game where he barely ever puts a decent performance in. I honestly feel we are starting with 10 men when he starts and he used to be the most important player at the club.

It would be fairer to say 'By Some Fans'. Some are indeed fickle to the extreme. Christian was always & still is a pedigree footballer & at the end of his career will be able to hold his head high in his individual achievements. Along with the like of others who have left us at sometime in their career, I would thank them for the pleasure they have given me wearing the Spurs shirt. Pro players have to do what they believe is best for themselves & their families. Would'nt we all ? . Stop bloody whinging & get along to see the many more superb players that will pull on the Lilywhite shirt.

Regarding the discussion of the FA Cup and playing too many games, and managers and clubs being criticised for not playing a full strength team, and how everyone always m oans about youth not getting a chance…

How about make it a requirement that in the FA cup you HAVE to field 3 players from your under 23 squad (or lower). Not 3 players under 23 (as you could do that from your first team squad, but 3 players who are officially part of your youth squads?

If every team had to do it, it would be fair and could make the cup more interesting.

Looking at too many games increase the amount of subs being used to 4.
No replays in the FA or league cups straight to pens.
Begin the league a week early..or finish it a week or two late.

  22. @roozy45

    March 1, 2024 at 6:45 pm

No – he has not been treated unfairly! He gets paid by the club, the disrespect from him, asking to leave and playing poorly for the best part of 18 months.

Simple answer to the FA Cup fatigue dilemma you either get rid of replays 3rd onwards or Premier league teams start fielding U23 teams that way Engerland would have a better chance in the Tournaments

The problem or not is Spurs took too long to build a new stadium with the mentality of the Chairman, by trying to balance the books he's sacrificing the squad don't want to spend the money required for success in this modern age game.

  27. @vomitilias

    March 1, 2024 at 6:45 pm

rumors are that real madrid put a bid on him last year and levy rejected. Its like since the bale sale he overvalue his players. He´s also the worst negotiator so other clubs just dont bother?. Eriksen has burned out at tottenham and i dont blame him. He has won nothing for all his effort. Tottenham are back home at a midtable. Id say eriksen is the key reason spurs got top 4 spots. He said he wanted to try something new and Levy should have dealt with that but he didnt. I blame levy.

  28. @ppuh6tfrz646

    March 1, 2024 at 6:45 pm

Eriksen got the credit when he played well and not he's getting stick for not making an effort.
I don't see the problem with that.

If it was the other way round and Eriksen was rubbish for ages and then started playing brilliantly, would people say that fans should continue to give him stick for how he used to be?

I loved Eriksen. I adored that man and what he's done for us but this season and a lot of last season just hasn't been good enough at all. He lost his desire and although I'd never boo a player unless he did something really sly against us I do sort of understand why they booed him. He was a perfect player and then started chatting about moving on and everything like that. It just got worse from there. He hasn't tried hard enough and that's why he was booed. I'm disappointed in Eriksen because he has such an amazing ability.

A footballers career last around 12 years on the top level. Eriksen has given 7 of those years to Tottenham! He may not have been motivated the last couple of months, but he has put in his shift, and shown immense respect for his club. We see players who throw their club under the bus, trying to force a transfer. Eriksen hasn't done that. He has been a professional throughout, and deserves better than her had gotten lately….

  33. @bruhh9379

    March 1, 2024 at 6:45 pm

Really hard subject imo. He has been so good for us for so long and now when he is on its like we are playing with 10 men. I hope wherever he goes he does well and finds happiness but damn im a little salty. Just the way he does not care and have not cared for long time. I thought someone who has been with us for so long would give everything on the field till the day he leaves the club but he definetly did not so thats why i dont think he is being treated unfair.

Let’s see what happens with CE in Inter. If he turns into a regular player at Inter you can say CE was very much unprofessional on how he conducted himself with Spurs. I personally think he was. He played like he didn’t want to take a chance with injury.

    March 1, 2024 at 6:45 pm

I dont think hes downed tools ….. how could anyone say that ? Even in games we have won hes been absent at best I'd rather have a youngster taking his place since the start of this season, it's like having 10 men. Not sure why they keep playing him other than just to make him look unprofessional as its costing us dearly time he plays, of he isnt sold he should be training on his own until the summer, he has become toxic and we need him away for the other players as soon as possible. Great fantastic player who has given us so much but every time he pulls on the shirt I respect him less and less.

  43. @erato99

    March 1, 2024 at 6:45 pm

Eriksen wanted out years ago. Levy should have sold him 2 years ago when his stock was at its peak. So the club carries some blame, but Eriksen doesn’t give any effort when he’s selected. As a professional, Eriksen has tarnished his legacy w/ Spurs by trotting around the pitch aimlessly for the last 8 months. He looks like the Danish Lawnmower out there. Inter is getting a massive bargain if Eriksen finds his passion again.

  44. @Wsg899

    March 1, 2024 at 6:45 pm

Who cares what this dinasor thinks

  45. @akshudhavala836

    March 1, 2024 at 6:45 pm

As a Spurs fan, I do think he’s been treated unfairly and all of his efforts over the past few years have been forgotten. I also think though that Eriksen should probably leave now rather in January for the sake of his own career, because it’s painfully obvious that he’s past playing his best for Spurs
