Hahaha, what a champ. Sick to death of all the whiners in football nowadays, this lad put up with abuse for 90 minutes and kept his cool the entire time. Why shouldn't he give an inch back after winning the game? This is the passion we NEED in football still. If he had gotten his arse out or thrown something into the fans then yes, it would be stupid. But a harmless gesture? Fuck off. I'd love another 10 James McClean's in our dressing room – We need more firey characters who are actually passionate enough to bend the rules sometimes.

I mean, footballers get abused in the stands all the time, a lot get a lot worse than McClean did and go and clap their fans instead of going over to the other team.
