   I used to always be a bold blush person but I’m actually starting to pull back a bit the last few weeks. I’m simultaneously behind the trend and ahead of the trend since it’s so cyclical.

   The blue eyeshadow trend also probably comes from Janis in the Mean Girls Musical movie. She had a beautiful blue shadow in one of her songs that many went crazy for.

    AI powered brand advice sounds like it will be a lot better for the shareholders than the consumers. You totally have the same concerns I do, as someone in retail marketing. It's going to bugger up the industry not help us as the buyers.

    My foundation graveyard being founded by robots is just going to piss me off.

    Another thing about graphic liner: I wear glasses. It's so difficult to find a graphic liner shape (that's more than just a colorful bold wing) that actually looks good with my glasses! I see no reason to try so hard to do something that just looks ridiculous

    You know, the sunscreen thing is not a big duh in the Netherlands at all. People don’t wear sunscreen daily. They put it on if they go outside or to the beach in the summer. I’m the only person I know that even makes a point out of buying moisturizer that has spf in it. Other people that are into makeup and skincare might do that as well, but it’s definitely not as normal as it might be in Australia.

    Speaking of skincare ingredients for the body, there is a brand here in Ireland and the UK called Sculpted By Aimee. They recently released a body moisturiser containing your standard Shea butter, along with niacinamide, collagen, and sodium hyaluronate. I think this is more what the average consumer wants in terms of body care. I can barely be bothered putting on body lotion. I definitely would not be into faffing about with an extra step like body serum. I'd rather just have it in the moisturiser.

    After all this time it may be now that the social media beauty community needs to stop being so dismissive of clean beauty products and marketing and demeaning to people who use it.

    I have a condition that makes my body extremely sensitive to both natural and synthetic chemicals. It causes extreme pain, burning itching, respiratory distress, heart palpitations, hair loss, and more. All of the chemicals that I react to are deemed safe, and the existence of the condition itself is regarded as inconclusive. The only way to ease the symptoms is to avoid aggravating chemicals. So you can see the problem, right? They are everywhere and in everything. Yet, beauty products don't need to disclose all the chemicals used in their products, especially fragrances. I have no way of narrowing down what could be causing the problems other than trial and error. No, the chemicals aren't toxic, but they aren't safe either. I can't say that clean beauty has solved the issue (because it would take more effort than any of those brands could make, and would require government intervention) but it may be the step in the right dhecrion for a lot of people.

    I am not stupid, and I'm not being told what to believe.

    I don't remember the year, but a very bright orange was color of the year. Sephora made a nail polish kit with 3 shades of the orange, one frosty, one glitter and one matte. I still have it. LOL

    I honestly whis that bold blush becomes a thing… I love blush and I wear a lot of it in lots of different colors. My favorite technique is "watercolor blush" by Lisa Eldridge, it makes my face glow 😌 Also the Douyin trend where the blush blends into your eye makeup is gorgeous 🤩

    the 10 step skincare routine was a misunderstanding from the get go. It was an author talking about the 10 potential steps you could have in a routine. The idea was to pick and choose from them, not necessarily to do all 10.
    Western media misunderstood it and corporations jumped on it to justify over-consumerism

    To connect mermaid core and the lip, I think purple lips are possibly "in" or will trend. I've already seen to cool toned and warm toned purple comparisons with different depths. That's my prediction!

    I was actually trying to do my eyeliner this morning right while you guys were talking about graphic eyeliner. Can confirm, I’ve nailed down my usual wing and I’m not deviating 😂

    I feel like trends vacillate between ‘minimalism’ and ‘maximalism’. So ‘clean’ v ‘grunge’ and ‘ballet’ v ‘mobwife/ high glam’. As one comes into popularity the people that don’t really like it lean in the other direction to the counterculture and then that eventually becomes popular enough to be the pop culture. And on and on.

    I’m not into skincare in makeup except SPF- more SPF in everything but that’s it. It’s like 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner, ends up doing both badly.
