5 REALLY IMPORTANT TIPS FOR PASSING YOUR FIRST-EVER MANAGEMENT OR LEADERSHIP INTERVIEW
TIP #1. MAKE SURE YOU ARE PREPARED FOR HYPOTHETICAL AND SITUATIONAL INTERVIEW QUESTIONS. 01:37
Questions such as, how would you deal with an underperforming member of your team, and how would you deal with conflict between two team members are going to come up during your first management or leadership interview.
TIP #2. SPEAK LIKE A MANAGER DURING YOUR INTERVIEW! 02:07
During your interview, I recommend you use corporate buzzwords and phrases that show the hiring manager you are already thinking like management.
TIP #3. HIGHLIGHT ANY PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WHERE YOU HAVE SHOWN LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE 06:15
Although you haven’t yet held a management or leadership position, I recommend you give examples in your interview where you have shown leadership initiative.
TIP #4. KNOW YOUR LEADERSHIP STYLE BEFORE YOU ATTEND THE INTERVIEW! 07:34
Now, although you haven’t yet held a leadership or management position, you should have an idea of the type of leader and manager you are going to be. During your interview, there is a strong possibility you will have to answer the tough interview question, what’s your leadership style?
TIP #5. ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS AT THE END OF YOUR MANAGEMENT OR LEADERSHIP INTERVIEW! 08:20
At the end of your interview, you will have the chance to ask some questions of your own. Whatever you do, do not ask questions about the salary, benefits, or perks of the job!

Because this is going to be the first interview question you will need to answer, it is imperative you get your interview off to a flying start. Give a response that shows you are confident in your abilities, you have the skills and qualities to match the job description, and don’t forget to use some of those management buzzwords and phrases I gave you earlier on.
Q2. HOW WOULD YOU DEAL WITH CONFLICT BETWEEN TWO CO-WORKERS? 11:26
This question comes up often during management and leadership interviews. In your answer, show you are the type of manager who sets high standards and who is not afraid to tackle conflict.
Q3. HOW WOULD YOU DEAL WITH AN UNDERPERFORMING MEMBER OF YOUR TEAM? 12:45
A big mistake often made by new managers and leaders is to turn a blind eye to underperformance.
Q4. WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THE FIRST 30 DAYS OF STARTING IN THE ROLE? 14:02
This question comes up often during first-time management and leadership interviews. It is assessing whether you have a plan in place or whether you are someone who is likely to need lots of guidance and support!

How can you pass the Walmart assessment test?
To perform well on the Walmart Assessment Test, focus on giving clear, consistent answers that demonstrate excellent customer service, safety awareness, teamwork, reliability, and respect for company policies and procedures.
TIP 1. Give clear and decisive answers
For work-style questions, avoid appearing uncertain. Where appropriate, choose responses such as “Strongly Agree” or “Strongly Disagree” when they genuinely reflect the qualities Walmart is assessing.
TIP 2. Be consistent throughout the test
Similar questions may appear several times but be worded differently. Keep your answers consistent and demonstrate that you are a reliable, honest, flexible, hardworking, and customer-focused employee.
TIP 3. Put the customer first
In customer-service scenarios, choose responses that show you will acknowledge the customer quickly, listen carefully, remain professional, and take appropriate action to resolve their needs.
TIP 4. Prioritize safety and follow procedures
Never choose shortcuts that could compromise the safety of customers or coworkers. Correct answers demonstrate that you will follow procedures, identify hazards, and ask for guidance when necessary.
TIP 5. Demonstrate teamwork and flexibility
Show that you are willing to support coworkers, adapt to changing situations, take on reasonable tasks, and help the team during busy periods while still completing your own responsibilities.

Thank you for these amazing videos. I watched this video over and over, but this one in particular. I wrote down, personalized it, and rehearsed what I was going to say.
I went to my interview with confidence and a week later I got a phone call from my HR and was told I was considered for the manager position. 🙌

Hi. I really love the energy and important points you bring in to be successful in an interview.
I am currently applying for few positions to be a first time manager. I came across one question which I found difficult to answer. It will be really appreciated if you can please help me on this. The question is
As a leader how would you achieve set targets or KPI's with an attrition environment. For example, if you are supposed to acheive $1m with 5 team members, however you left with only 3 now.
