Salaries across the IT sector have been stagnant from the last two years anyhow. Even product based firms like Flipkart have not given any pay rises in last 2 years. That being said, Indian IT companies are some of the worst run companies across the globe.

Reduction is pay packages is evident from the fact that the exp folks taking an average 70-80% hike in their jump to another firm! Thats huge and that correction was bound to happen….

This doesn't mean the firms who are offering low-end of the pay, also will reduce their offers by 30-40%… That doesn't make sense and its their loss EOD, of they do it.

I cant imagine firms offering 3-4 lpa to freshers, suddenly reeucing their offers to 2-2.5 lpa

With Automation, Generative AI, Copilots based on GenAI, and further development of LLMs – gaining fast momentum and adoption — across Tech companies and organisations – the ‘Value’ of what these Professionals do or deliver is Coming down exponentially – leading to decreased Pay packages or even pay cuts.

This will have a detrimental effect on the cumulative wealth in the economy and overall Demand, which will be Hit badly, especially in India 🇮🇳 where a Lot of well paying Jobs are in the IT and other allied sectors! 😢😢🎉

If corporate is running loss. They can make work from home in that way they can reduce the cost, current, buildings lease, AC, foods hubs, travel cabs, and time.. But they are with political parties. These politician's build large apartments and houses for rent in metro cities and if middle class like us work from office they get rent and other revenues.. All our govt does not want a middle class to cross that bar..

Not only India- it’s dropping abroad as well. Globalisation is leading to cheaper workforce availability and so the drop can be seen and observed.
IT companies are making layoffs a regular procedure pressurizing other industries as well to feel normal cutting their workforce.
