WHAT ARE BEHAVIOURAL INTERVIEW QUESTIONS? 01:53
SATR METHOD FOR BEHAVIORAL INTERVIEW QUESTIONS 03:25
HOW TO ANSWER BEHAVIORAL INTERVIEW QUESTIONS 04:19
Behavioral interview questions are designed to assess how candidates have handled specific situations in the past, providing insight into their skills, abilities, and behavior. The STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—is a structured approach to effectively answer these questions and showcase your experiences. Here’s how to use the STAR method to ace behavioral interview questions:
Situation: Start by providing context for the situation or challenge you faced. Clearly explain the circumstances, setting the stage for the interviewer to understand the scenario. Be concise and focus on the key details relevant to the question asked.
Task: Describe the specific task or objective you needed to accomplish within the given situation. Clearly outline what was required of you and any goals or expectations that were set. This helps the interviewer understand the scope of your responsibility and the challenges you were tasked with addressing.
Action: Detail the actions you took to address the situation or complete the task. Be specific about the steps you took, highlighting your skills, expertise, and decision-making process. Emphasize your role in driving the outcome and the strategies you employed to overcome obstacles or challenges.
Result: Finally, discuss the results or outcomes of your actions. Quantify your achievements whenever possible, such as metrics, percentages, or tangible impacts. Highlight the positive results you achieved and any lessons learned from the experience. This demonstrates your effectiveness and the value you bring to potential employers.
By using the STAR method to structure your responses, you can effectively showcase your abilities and provide concrete examples of your past experiences. Remember to tailor your answers to align with the specific job requirements and emphasize relevant skills and achievements. With practice and preparation, you’ll be well-equipped to confidently navigate behavioral interview questions and make a strong impression on prospective employers.

HOW TO INTRODUCE YOURSELF IN A JOB INTERVIEW!
The hardest part of any job interview is right at the start when the hiring manager says to you: INTRODUCE YOURSELF! It’s the hardest part because you will be the most nervous at the beginning, and it’s always difficult to know what to say in your introduction.
But fear not, I am here to help you.
In this video, I will give you 4 great tips for introducing yourself, give you a simple 4-step structure for what you need to say and then give you the perfect answer to write down.
My name is Richard McMunn, and I have been a hiring manager and recruitment expert for more than 30 years – subscribe, give the video a like, and also tell me the name of the role you are being interviewed for in the comments below this video so I can give you some extra help.
4 POWERFUL TIPS FOR GIVING THE PERFECT JOB INTERVIEW INTRODUCTION 01:26
TIP 1 – Keep your interview introduction professional – do not talk about your family, relationship status, hobbies, or any personal issues.
TIP 2 – Keep your introduction to no longer than 60 seconds – that is all it needs to be. The interviewer wants a brief introduction before they ask you various questions to assess your suitability for the role.
TIP 3 – Make sure you practice your introduction several times before the interview. This is very important because the interviewer is assessing your communication skills – give a confident introduction and the rest of the interview will be a breeze!
TIP 4 – This is probably the best tip I can give you – talk about the following 4 things in your introduction:
SKILLS – Say that your skills match the job description and that you are a disciplined, responsive and accountable team player.
EXPERIENCE – Say that you have the experience to make a difference in the role – you have experience working on teams, problem-solving, and completing time-critical tasks.
ACHIEVEMENTS – Briefly talk about one or two achievements you have attained in your life so far. For example, winning Employee of the Month, achieving outstanding grades at college or helping your employer receive lots of 5-star reviews online.
TYPE OF PERSON YOU ARE – You can say that you are the type of person who always ensures your employer receives a great return from your salary.

Hi Richard, great channel! Thanks for all the information here.
I have an interview on Tuesday with the MoJ for an Administrative Assistant role at HM Courts and Tribunals Service. I've been advised to focus mostly on preparing for behavioural questions, so this video is very helpful for me. I don't wish to take up too much of your time but I was just wondering if you could point me towards any other specific videos of yours which would be useful for me in preparing for this interview, or any other resources /tips that might help? Also, any advice for calming interview day nerves, other than being well prepared?
Thank you very much and kind regards.

I have some questions:
1. I’ve been rejected from about 50 interviews. (In the last one they found the excuse that I could have given more examples. There must have been 20 to 30 perfectly given interviews with no feedback at all. The feedback I got from a lot of them is that they went for another candidate).
2. Before the pandemic it only took around 4 interviews to secure a new role
3. I went to a top business school and have half a decade of experience working for blue chip companies.
4. I’ve been given the advice by some corporate operatives that I could still somehow secure a role at a top company even if I’ve been unemployed for half a dozen years
Is it discrimination? Is it bias because there is money involved? I would just like to know what is going on as I’m being forced to retire early abroad/take a career break in the summer

@CareerVidz,
I want to share with you 17 questions I been ask by the interview and why I failed it using the star method. Down below.
1) Tell me about a time you helped a person with a disability and describe how you helped them?
2) What are the 5 characteristics of a defensive driver?
3) When you enter the garage, if there is nobody there, and if you see a hazardous spill or fire, but you see a piece of equipment that you have not been trained or used for a long time, what would you do?
4) If a customer asked you a question, but you do not know the answer, what would you do?
5) How would you handle a customer who does not speak English?
6) During your off duty, when you are going outside during your off day, if a person asks you a question or if you suspect a suspicious or angry pedestrian, how would you handle that situation?
7) If bad weather approaches, if you are running late, what would you do about it?
8) If one of your passengers fell in your bus while you were driving, what would you do?
9) What are the expectation and how would you describe a Transit Operator?
10) Tell us a time you had a complaint from a customer and how did you resolve it with Management?
11) If you were involved in a collision, what would you do?
12) Tell us a time when you had to deal with an emergency situation?
13) If a customer enters your bus, but he does not pay the fare, what would you do?
14) What do you look for when you arrive at work?
15) If you need to take a bus out from the garage, and if there’s a equipment missing would you take it out anyway? If so why or why not?
16) Tell me about a time you had to take the same route everyday? Either work or home?
17) When you are in layover, a snow removal tells you to move, but there’s no place to go, how would you handle an angry snow removal operator?
If you can create a video of these questions in the future about Transit Operator, I would really appreciated,
Thanks
