   He wasn't the signing we needed when we got him so it's amazing he's still here. Fergie had written him off by his last season his first choice was nani/valencia and Park. Even kagawa and Welbeck were getting games on the left over young. If United have any ambition to make a challenge then young as a full back is going to cost points. Puts everything in to his performances but ultimately he's not a full back. Hasn't been educated in this position for the majority of his career so it's harsh to expect him to just know how to track runners, hold a line etc. I don't know how United have spent about 700m in the past 5 seasons yet still have wingers like valencia and young playing at full back. It'd be like Chelsea playing Willian right back and expecting to get results. It's madness

   these guys just chat shite for views by putting utd on title, ashley young was never good enough as a winger or as a fullback/wingback and is nothing but a parasite at utd on 180k a week to aimlessly cross the ball to nobody or lose possession while being out of position.

   signing a new RB instead of chucking 180k/week on young would be an improvement.

    He’s usually the worst player on the field. Gives the ball away too often, caught out of position all the time, and when he does get upfield he usually plays the ball backwards.

    Sorry but Carrick was called over rated for years because he didn't have enough highlights in MOTD from the supporters or non supporters that don't watch every game. Young played bad against leciester but De Gea got MOTM for making 2 big saves, that gives you an idea of the whole squads performance. Young played 40 games under fergie and has gone on to play another 200 more under different managers. He has scored and assisted in big games even as a defender and makes no less mistakes than Shaw who is our promising full back. Watch every game week in week out and you will come to learn yooung is very reliable, Valencia played v Newcastle and we couldnt use him again as he was miles behind young's contribution to the team, valencia has been our best right back for the last 5 or 6 years.

    One of the players we should kick out asap, total liability as a FB and his crossing has gone downhill. Cannot mark a fly and gets skinned by mid table teams. There is no need of liability senior players.

    he might be, but when i can mention 15 fullbacks that are better than him in premier league, its not good enough. young is on par with cyrus christie. huddersfield is bottom but hadergonaj going forward is a menace. a squad player yes, nothing more.

    No? He's literally dead rubber now. Experience is all very well and he's probably not gonna worry about being replaced by anyone in the side now, but he's not good enough. Gets down the wing alright but his ball in is garbage. His tracking back is now a problem with his age and pace.

    We've got bigger issues because we need 2 big, commanding CBs and a replacement for Matic, and we need to get rid and swap out some of the terrible signings Mourinho made, but after that, Young is most definitely dispensable
