Chinese are NOT hostile to the Russians. China will work with Russians in space. If both sides wanted to cooperate…there is no way for the USA to work with China in space, but it's totally possible for Russians to work with China in space.

Yes I agree! China is catching up fast. However, instead of slowing them, we can put into a place an effective ecosystem of positive sum game where we can benefit from the progress of China.
II. Remember, after the WWII, Europe and Japan were catching up fast as well. By the 80s, Europe did bridge the productivity gap within US and them. However, since the 90s, they've started to lag behind. And things are getting worse.
So! China is simply catching up. Of course, AI is a very serious because it could help them lead the world very soon.
However, everything is about Strategy…….Not a panic! And more we panic, more we show how weak we're, more we show how insecure our leadership is.
I don't buy that! Leadership is a fruit of gradual and procedural process.

The Australian Strategic Policy Institute in March presented a one of its kind major report on the state of 44 major technologies. China leads in 37 of them. among others, defence, space, robotics, energy, biotech and AI. They found in some fields, of the ten leading research hubs, most are in China.
I’ve been brought up to believe that scientific excellence, development and advancement were the hallmark of the West ie capitalism. An alternative to modernization that isn’t Western? Hard to believe.
No wonder we in the West hear so much negativity towards China. You mean they are actually ahead of us in inventions, scientific papers, AI, Bio technology, Physics, 6G, advanced robotics and many others? Wow!!! A multi polar world.
I know some people have trouble coming to terms with a multi polar world and a more open and wealthy China. Having overcome the shackles of poverty in lifting 800 million people to a better life, it is the largest producer of goods in the world and is the largest trading partner of most of the world’s countries and the largest generator of global (and Australia’s and the US's) economic growth. Doesn't sound like much of a collapse.
