So, to help you pass your job interview on the first attempt, I have put together 12 brilliant ‘quick answers’ to the questions I believe will come up at your next interview!
12 QUICK ANSWERS TO JOB INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
INTERVIEW QUESTION #1 – Tell me something about yourself. 01:06
When you answer this first question, simply talk about your skills and qualities, any achievements you have gained in life, and what how you will do to add value to their company.
INTERVIEW QUESTION #2 – How did you hear about this position? 02:11
When you answer this second interview question, you must show the hiring manager that you are genuinely interested in working for their company.
INTERVIEW QUESTION #3 – Why do you want to work here? 02:43
When answering this tough interview question you must say you have RESEARCHED the company. If you don’t say you’ve carried out research, and more importantly highlight the things that have attracted you to their company, you won’t get hired.
INTERVIEW QUESTION #4 – What are your greatest strengths? 03:23
The trick to answering this common but difficult interview question is to give several strengths that are a match for the job description. Quickly read the job description before your interview to see what strengths the employer is seeking.
INTERVIEW QUESTION #5 – What is your biggest weakness? 04:22
Do not say you don’t have any weaknesses, or your weakness is you are a perfectionist. If you say either of those things, you will fail your interview.
INTERVIEW QUESTION #6 – How would you deal with a conflict with a co-worker? 05:00
This questions features during 97% of job interviews! Do not say you would tell your manager about the conflict. The trick to answering this common interview question is to say YOU will resolve the conflict yourself for the benefit of the team.
INTERVIEW QUESTION #7 – What is your greatest achievement? 05:59
Where possible, give an achievement from a previous job or your academic studies. This question is being asked because if the interviewer hears you have a track record of success, you are more likely to replicate it for their company.
INTERVIEW QUESTION #8 – Where do you see yourself in five years? 07:33
When answering this common but difficult interview question, show passion for self-development, and demonstrate a desire to stay working at their company long-term.
INTERVIEW QUESTION #9 – Why do you want to leave your job? 08:16
Whatever you do, do not say you want to leave your job for reasons such as there’s a toxic environment or you don’t get on with your boss.
INTERVIEW QUESTION #10 – How do you prioritize tasks? 09:00
This is a tough question to answer that catches a lot of people out! In your answer, say you prioritize work around the company’s goals.
INTERVIEW QUESTION #11 – What motivates you? 09:43
Do not say you are motivated by time off, money, or anything else outside work. Instead, say you are motivated by meeting the needs of others, achieving great things with your team, and continuous improvement.
INTERVIEW QUESTION #12 – Why should we hire you? 10:40
This interview question is your chance to SELL YOURSELF! Don’t forget, the hiring manager will ask this same question to each and every candidate. Ensure your answer is positive and demonstrates what you can do for their company!

I am going to give a brilliant, attention-grabbing CV personal statement that will get you invited to interview.
My name is Richard McMunn, and I have been a hiring manager for more than 30 years – I see many CVs and resumes, and they all have the same problem – the applicant has clearly used AI to write it, and they all look the same!
How long should your CV personal statement be? 02:03
Well, it should be no longer than 150 words. 150 words is long enough to communicate your value but short enough to scan quickly. Your personal statement must cover these 3 areas:
1. WHO ARE YOU? → Your professional identity or level.
2. WHAT CAN YOU OFFER? → Your strongest relevant skills, experience, and evidence.
3. HOW YOU WILL ADD VALUE → The impact you can make in the role.
Keep your personal statement to a maximum of 150 words.
3 CV personal statement mistakes you must avoid. 02:52
Mistake #1: Using generic statements with no evidence
For example:
“I am a hardworking, motivated and enthusiastic individual who works well independently and as part of a team.”
That statement tells me, as a hiring manager, nothing of value because thousands of candidates use the same language. Instead, write something like this:
“A commercially aware and results-driven professional with five years’ experience in customer service and sales. Recognised as Employee of the Month for exceeding performance targets and improving customer satisfaction, evidenced by consistent five-star reviews and positive customer feedback.”
Mistake #2: Writing a personal statement that could apply to any job
One of the biggest mistakes I see is candidates using the same personal statement for every application. For example, if you are applying for a Project Manager role, I should immediately see evidence of project delivery, stakeholder management, budgets, deadlines and results. Tailor your personal statement to the job role, and your chances of getting invited to interview will skyrocket.
Mistake #3: Focusing on what YOU want instead of what the employer NEEDS
Avoid statements such as:
“I am looking for an exciting opportunity to develop my skills and progress my career.”
Instead, write something that demonstrates your focus on helping the company or organisation:
“I am committed to using my skills and experience to support [INSERT COMPANY NAME]’s objectives, contribute to team success, and help achieve its goal of becoming the market leader.”
3 powerful tips for writing the perfect CV personal statement
TIP 1 – Start with a strong professional identity
For example:
“A commercially focused and results-driven Sales Manager with 8 years’ experience…”
Or:
“A highly organised and customer-focused professional with proven experience in exceeding customer expectations and increasing sales.”
These opening statements give the hiring manager instant context.
TIP 2 – Mirror the language of the job description
Doing this helps improve relevance and quickly shows the hiring manager or the Applicant Tracking System that you are a close match for the role.
TIP 3 – Include proof, not just claims
Do not just say you are good. Give the hiring manager a reason to believe you.
A weak example is this:
“An excellent salesperson with strong communication skills.”
A strong alternative is this:
“A results-driven sales professional with a track record of exceeding annual targets by 15%.”
Always remember: Adding numbers to your personal statement instantly adds credibility.

These answers are not genuine when it comes to your character. I recommend speaking how you speak because his answers do not reflect who you are as a person.
Simply spend time with yourself and ask yourself the same questions. That way you can reflect your journey.

…i use to work in hr and ran Interviews….you cannot judge people by interviewing them for a couple of mins…
Especially when you have to…meet certain race criteria and you have to let potentially good candidates go just because is not the proper color.
Interviews are a waste of time ,but good tips nonetheless.
