this is now the Royal Navy test, (DAA) i took my first attempt at the DAA blind after previously passing my psychometric last year, and was unsuccessful as i wasn't sure what to expect because their website was going through changes so they never had practice question on the website. this video shows the more realistic questions to expect from the Royal Navy test. hopefully i pass my 2nd attempt! was waiting for a start date for HMS Raleigh before they introduced the DAA, now i need to revise again.

I took all the OASC Selection Tests at Biggin Hill 1976 for Pilot &/or Navigator. We (my syndicate) were all invited to take the Selection Tests for NCO Aircrew eg Flight Engineer (C130) or Air Loadmaster also and on considering these tests were for Non-Commissioned Aircrew they were far harder and more technical than the Officer Selection Tests ! Despite our academic achievements and a sprinkling of Flying Scolarships amongst our motley clutch of Pilot "hopefuls" not one of us even got considered for a Ground Commission !

If anyone needs a tip that has helped me massively increase my time on the work rate tests. If you start at the end letter or number you will usually get the answer alot faster than if you were to start on the first. Although this doesn't work for every question I have found that it definitely does for the majority.

I've brought your book RAF Airman Tests, but my question is….With the numerical reasoning test where is the best place to learn the topics covered?

Wondering if anyone can help me, I have always really struggled with maths. I have my AST in 2 weeks but I am worried I won’t score high on the maths…my questions being, is the assessment designed to see where you’re at academically and what jobs you can apply for, or is it a real exam where if I don’t pass the maths I won’t get through to the next stage in the process?

I want to join as a logistics mover btw. Thanks for any help.

Lyrics:

I just wanna show you how much I appreciate you, yes
Wanna show you how much I’m dedicated to you, yes
Wanna show you how much I will forever be true, yes
Wanna show you how much you got your girl feeling good, oh, yes
Wanna show you how much, how much you understood, oh, yes
Wanna show you how much I value what you say,
Not only are you loyal, you’re patient with me babe, oh, yes
Wanna show you how much I really care about your heart,
Wanna show you how much I hate being apart, oh, yes
Show you, show you, show you, till you through with me,
I wanna keep it how it is so you can never say how it used to be!

Loving you is really all that’s on my mind
And I can’t help but to think about it day and night,
I wanna make that body rock
Sit back and watch!

Tonight I’m gonna dance for you, oh-oh

How RA Crisis Management Skills Reduced Reported Behavioral Incidents (Unrestrained Ep. 71)

Published

on

In a college dormitory environment, RA (resident advisor) crisis management skills can prove significant in decreasing the incidence of behavioral incidents serious enough to warrant reporting. (Check out our blog post about this interview: https://www.crisisprevention.com/Blog/How-RA-Crisis-Management-Skills-Reduced-Reported-B)

Since resident advisors are often the first point of contact for residents who need support or encounter a crisis situation on a college campus, their expertise in the use of skills like verbal de-escalation can be the critical difference in the diffusion of behavioral crises—and the increase of campus dorm safety.

Our guest on episode 71 of Unrestrained, a CPI podcast, is Dr. Ernest Solar, Assistant Professor of Special Education and Literacy at Mount St. Mary’s University of Emmitsburg, Maryland. Dr. Solar, a CPI Certified Instructor familiar with the merits of behavioral intervention skills including verbal de-escalation, suggested that Mount St. Mary’s resident advisor program could be strengthened by the inclusion of CPI’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training.

In our interview, you’ll hear about the results of a scientific study conducted by the professor that shows how, over a period of four years, the number of referrals of behavioral incidents serious enough to require reporting to the Office of Resident life dropped by 65%.

Highlights of my interview with Dr. Solar include:
What a student is really doing when they’re acting out. 4:00
Why Dr. Solar chose CPI’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training for his teacher candidates. 5:28
Why effective teaching depends on recognizing students’ behavioral patterns. 8:40
How Mount St. Mary’s decided to provide their dorm RAs Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training. 13:18
Why role-playing exercises in CPI training is so valuable for RAs. 15:36
The role of RA’s in the dorms and likely crisis situations which may occur. 20:20
How Dr. Solar’s mixed method study that shows the effectiveness of CPI training was designed—and the results it disclosed. 22:40

Further Listening
If you enjoyed Dr. Solar’s interview, check out Episode 46 of Unrestrained, a CPI podcast, features Dr. Reece Peterson. In the interview, Dr. Peterson discusses his journal article A Review of Crisis Intervention Training Programs for Schools (Couvillon, Peterson, Ryan, Scheuremann, Stegall, 2010), and examines issues relating to crisis intervention training in the school setting including legal initiatives, standardization of training, and the vital importance of fidelity of training across all layers of a school’s organizational structure.
