The obsession of Afghans with Toyota Corollas is not a hidden secret. Be it citizens or the Taliban, Toyota has been a common theme for decades. But lately, there has been a rise in interest in sports cars among the people of Afghanistan. A couple of motorists came together to show off their drifting skills on the streets of Kabul.

Former Pentagon adviser Douglas MacGregor has warned that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could be dragging the United States deeper into the ongoing conflict in West Asia. MacGregor said the war is likely to continue for weeks as tensions between Israel and Iran escalate and regional actors become increasingly involved.

He also warned that any move to close the Strait of Hormuz would be a “disaster” for global trade and energy markets. The strategic waterway is one of the world’s most critical oil shipping routes, carrying a significant portion of global crude exports.
