Israeli air strikes and artillery shelling struck more than 500 targets belonging to the Hamas and Islamic Jihad militant groups in the Gaza Strip. Overnight thick plumes of smoke blew from the Palestinian Enclave as the strikes continued in the early hours of morning. Israel has been carrying out continuous air strikes in the Gaza Strip in response to the surprise large-scale attack by the militants on Saturday.

The war will accomplish nothing. The answer is education. Israel should learn from the Chinese approach in Xinjiang. If Israel just build a few re-education centers to lock up and brainwash the entire Palestinian population, they will all become peaceful and obedient after a decade or two. The Gaza Strip has a population of only about 2.3 million people. There is no technical difficulty to lock them all up.

This is what happens when war is declared. Nowhere is safe for terrorists. Never before has Israel ever bombed a mosque. But that is where Hamas store their weapons. Same with schools and hospitals which are all shields for Hamas tunnels and command centers. Those days are over.

Security footage reportedly shows settlers encircling the properties and erecting tents, while families say Israeli forces told them to leave their homes. The families have since moved into one house, fearing they may not be allowed to return.
