Chinese vessel to reach Lanka in Oct | India raises alarm bells | Inside South Asia

Reports of a Chinese research vessel being allowed to dock in Sri Lanka’s strategic ports of Colombo and Hambantota in October have raised alarm bells in New Delhi. India has officially lodged a complaint with Lanka for allowing Chinese vessels a free run. The ship ‘Shi Yan 6’ is slated to arrive on the 25th of October and will conduct joint ocean surveys with the Sri Lankan agency NARA or the National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency.
