A devastating fire at a coaching centre in Lucknow has claimed 15 lives and left several others injured. Witnesses described scenes of panic as students jumped from the building to escape the rapidly spreading flames. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh for the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured. Authorities are investigating what caused the deadly blaze.
