INTRODUCE YOURSELF in a JOB INTERVIEW! (The PERFECT ANSWER) HOW to INTRODUCE YOURSELF in INTERVIEWS)

INTRODUCE YOURSELF in a JOB INTERVIEW! (The PERFECT ANSWER) HOW to INTRODUCE YOURSELF in INTERVIEWS) #introduceyourself #tellmeaboutyourself #interviewquestionsandanswers
Yesterday, I interviewed a candidate for a job within my company. When I said to them: please introduce yourself, they gave me the best answer I have ever heard.

The answer was so powerful, I decided to write it down once the interview was over so I could share it with today in this video.

So, if you want to know how to give the perfect answer to that question, introduce yourself, please make sure you stay tuned.

Before I give you the exact response they gave, I want to give you several powerful tips so you can deliver your interview introduction with confidence. Please write these down.

Tip number one is to make sure you practice your interview introduction. Yesterday, it was clear that the candidate had rehearsed their response. I loved that about them. That tells me that they are highly organized and they prepare for every situation. Make sure you write down the introduction I am about to give you and practice it before your interview.

Tip number two, keep your introduction to approximately 60 seconds. The answer they gave in the interview was just over 60 seconds in length. That’s perfect for job interviews.

Tip number three is to make sure you smile while giving your introduction. The candidate yesterday was smiling throughout their response and they were positive. I loved that about them. It made me want to hire them right there on the spot.

Tip number four, when giving your introduction, make sure you focus on two things. The SKILLS you have and also the areas of EXPERTISE you can bring to their company.

Tip number five, don’t talk about any personal problems or issues you have and also don’t talk about what you get up to outside of work. Focus your response on how you can ADD VALUE to their organization.

And then finally, tip number six when you are giving your introduction, make sure you maintain eye contact with the interviewer. The candidate yesterday was looking at me in the eyes while giving their answer and that told me they have good communication skills and they were confident.

So let me now give you the exact introduction they gave me in their interview. Write this down.

Introduce yourself. Here’s exactly what they said.

“I am very excited about this opportunity and I want to thank you for allowing me to introduce myself.

My name is (and then they told me their name) and I applied for this job because you are a brilliant company with an excellent reputation. If I had to describe myself in three words I would say diligent, positive and self-motivated.

While reading the job description before applying, I was pleased to see that I have the qualifications, knowledge and aptitude to meet the role’s demands. I can come into the position and have an instant impact.

My areas of expertise include ensuring all tasks and projects are completed on time. I am good at multitasking and prioritizing my work. And whenever I deal with customers or clients, I am welcoming and responsive and I am a great company role model.

One of my greatest assets is my passion for self-improvement. In this role, if you ever give me feedback, I will always listen and take action.

Finally, as part of my introduction, I wanted to assure you that if I am successful, I will always take ownership of problems when they occur, work hard to give you a brilliant return on my salary and support my co-workers. Thank you for listening.”

That was such a strong job interview introduction, I wanted to offer the job to them right there on the spot. Make sure you write down that interview introduction and practice it before your interview. You’ll be glad that you did.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A CV? 01:48
7 CV & RESUME MISTAKES YOU MUST AVOID! 02:45
10 BEST WORDS FOR CVS & RESUMES 05:00
CV TEMPLATE 09:36

How to Write a CV or Resume That Gets Interviews in 2026
Your CV or resume is one of the most important documents you will ever create. It is your opportunity to convince a hiring manager that you have the skills, knowledge, qualifications, and experience needed to succeed in the role.

The purpose of a CV is simple: to demonstrate that you match the job description better than the other applicants. If your CV clearly shows that you have what the employer is looking for, you dramatically increase your chances of being invited to interview.

1. Spelling and Grammar Mistakes
Even one spelling or punctuation mistake can create a poor first impression. Always proofread your CV several times and ask someone else to review it before sending it.

2. Ignoring Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
Many employers now use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to filter applications before a human ever reads them. Your CV should use a clean layout, standard headings, and simple formatting that ATS software can easily process.

3. Sending the Same CV for Every Job
Never use a generic CV. Every application should be tailored specifically to the position you are applying for by matching your experience, skills, and achievements to the job description.

4. Not Using Keywords
Recruiters and ATS software actively search for keywords taken directly from the job advert. Include relevant industry terms, technical skills, qualifications, and responsibilities throughout your CV wherever they naturally apply.

5. Writing a Weak Professional Summary
Your professional summary sits at the very top of your CV and is often the first section employers read. It should clearly explain who you are, what you offer, and why you are a strong candidate.

6. Making Your CV Too Long
Hiring managers spend only seconds scanning most applications. Aim for a concise, well-organised CV of no more than two or three pages.

7. Using an Unprofessional Email Address
Your email address should present you professionally. Ideally, use your name rather than nicknames or informal usernames.

The Best Action Verbs for Your CV
Strong action verbs instantly make your achievements more impressive. Instead of simply listing duties, demonstrate the impact you made.

Some of the most powerful action verbs include:

* Achieved
* Implemented
* Resolved
* Increased
* Generated
* Led
* Optimised
* Spearheaded
* Developed
* Streamlined

Whenever possible, support these words with measurable results. For example, instead of saying you “improved customer service,” write that you “Resolved 95% of customer complaints during first contact” or “Increased customer satisfaction scores by 30%.”

Numbers make your achievements more credible and memorable.

The 6 Essential Sections Every CV Should Include
(A professional CV should contain six key sections.)

Personal Details
Include your full name, phone number, professional email address, LinkedIn profile (where appropriate), and your location. There is usually no need to include your full home address.

Professional Summary
Write a concise paragraph summarising your experience, achievements, skills, and career strengths while naturally incorporating keywords from the job description.

Work Experience
List your employment in reverse chronological order. Include your job title, employer, employment dates, and several bullet points highlighting responsibilities and achievements. Focus on results rather than simply describing your duties.

Educational Background & Qalifications
Include your qualifications, educational institution, and graduation dates. If you are still studying, simply state “In Progress.”

Technical & Soft Skills
Create a dedicated skills section that combines technical skills with workplace skills.

Examples of technical skills include Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, AI productivity tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot, project management methodologies, digital marketing, graphic design, video editing, cloud computing, and IT support.

Important soft skills include communication, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, adaptability, emotional intelligence, customer service, resilience, time management, and decision-making.

Certification and Awards
Professional certifications immediately demonstrate your commitment to continuous learning. Include industry qualifications, workplace certifications, and awards that strengthen your application.
