Torrential rains have triggered severe flooding across low-lying areas of Bihar, with the Ganga and Kosi rivers rising above the danger mark in Katihar. Residents in three village councils have been forced to move to safer areas, while villagers struggle to access essential supplies, including cooking gas. Neighbouring Uttar Pradesh is also facing flood-like conditions after rivers breached embankments.

More than 22 lakh people across 12 districts of Bihar have been affected by the floods, prompting authorities to step up rescue and relief operations.

President Donald Trump declared war on mosquitoes in an executive order signed Tuesday, promising to reduce D.C.’s mosquito population.

The order, issued as an outbreak of dengue fever grips Florida, directs Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, along with other federal officials, to “develop and implement a campaign” over 60 days to cut certain species of invasive mosquitoes by 90 percent.

Three years after the October 7 attacks, Israel continues to face a complex security landscape with no clear endgame to the wider conflict. What began with Hamas’s assault on southern Israel has evolved into a prolonged regional crisis, raising questions about Israel’s military strategy, national security and long-term political objectives. As the conflict continues to shape the Middle East, uncertainty remains over the future of Gaza, the prospects for a lasting ceasefire and the path towards regional stability. Has Israel achieved its strategic goals, or does the country face an open-ended war?
