5 TOP-SCORING INTERVIEW ANSWERS HIRING MANAGERS LOVE! (Real Examples to COMMON QUESTIONS!)
Having interviewed hundreds of candidates, I can tell you thereโ€™s a clear difference between answers that get ignored and answers that score highly. Itโ€™s not about saying more โ€” itโ€™s about saying the right things, in a way that adds value to the employer.

In this video, Iโ€™m going to share real examples of top-scoring answers that have recently been used in job interviews โ€“ when candidates use these answers, they always get hired. Take notes.

1. When answering the interview question, Why should we hire you? An average candidate will say something like this:

Why should we hire you?
โ€œYou should hire me because I work hard, I am reliable, and I have good communication skills. I always try my best, and Iโ€™m a good team player.โ€

You might think thereโ€™s nothing wrong with that answer, but it is nowhere near good enough. A candidate worth hiring will tell the hiring manager what they will do to make a difference in the roleโ€ฆ Here is the best answer you can give:
Why should we hire you? 01:29

You can see how that answer is going to get you hired. The answer contains 3 reasons for hiring them, it gives evidence of previous strong work performance, and it demonstrates the candidate is organised and prepared because they have created a 90-day action plan.

2. When answering the interview question, What are your strengths? An average candidate will say something like this:

What are your strengths?
โ€œMy strengths include being organised, being good with people, and working well under pressure.โ€

The problem with that answer is that it does not provide evidence of the candidateโ€™s strengths, adding value. A candidate worth hiring will give unique strengths that set them apart from other candidates. Here is a brilliant answer that is going to get you hired:
What are your strengths? 03:34

3. When answering the interview question, How do you prioritize your work? An average candidate will say something like this:

How do you prioritize your work?
โ€œI always prioritize my work based on what my manager needs me to do. I make sure everything is done on time and to a high standard.โ€

That answer might sound OK to the majority of people, but it is really a weak response. It tells the hiring manager the candidate will always wait to be told what to do. Use this answer:
How do you prioritize your work? 05:31

4. When answering the interview question, How would you deal with a conflict with a co-worker? An average candidate will say something like this:

How would you deal with a conflict with a co-worker?
โ€œI would tell my manager about the conflict so they could help deal with it.โ€

90% of candidates answer that question in that way, and they donโ€™t get hired. They donโ€™t get hired because the hiring manager is looking for someone who will take ownership of the conflict and resolve it independently. Here is exactly how you should be answering this tough questionโ€ฆ
How would you deal with a conflict with a co-worker? 06:49

5. When answering the interview question, Tell me about a time you made a mistake. A candidate the hiring manager will refuse to offer the job to will say this:

Tell me about a time you made a mistake.
โ€œTo be honest, Iโ€™ve never made a mistake at work. One of my greatest strengths is that I am a perfectionist.โ€

Candidates who answer the question like that have clearly failed to understand the question โ€“ it is being asked for two reasons:

1. To assess honesty because the truth is, we all make mistakes from time to time, but it is how we respond to these mistakes that defines us.

2. Whether you are honest about your mistakes and you learn from them.
Tell me about a time you made a mistake. 08:33

HOW TO WRITE A CV OR RESUME PERSONAL STATEMENT THAT GETS YOU HIRED! (+ FREE Template)

HOW TO WRITE A CV OR RESUME PERSONAL STATEMENT THAT GETS YOU HIRED! (+ FREE Template) My CV Writing Service: https://cvmadeeasy.co.uk/ #cv #resume #personalstatement #cvtips #resumetips

I am going to give a brilliant, attention-grabbing CV personal statement that will get you invited to interview.

My name is Richard McMunn, and I have been a hiring manager for more than 30 years โ€“ I see many CVs and resumes, and they all have the same problem โ€“ the applicant has clearly used AI to write it, and they all look the same!

How long should your CV personal statement be? 02:03
Well, it should be no longer than 150 words. 150 words is long enough to communicate your value but short enough to scan quickly. Your personal statement must cover these 3 areas:

1. WHO ARE YOU? โ†’ Your professional identity or level.
2. WHAT CAN YOU OFFER? โ†’ Your strongest relevant skills, experience, and evidence.
3. HOW YOU WILL ADD VALUE โ†’ The impact you can make in the role.

Keep your personal statement to a maximum of 150 words.

3 CV personal statement mistakes you must avoid. 02:52

Mistake #1: Using generic statements with no evidence
For example:
โ€œI am a hardworking, motivated and enthusiastic individual who works well independently and as part of a team.โ€

That statement tells me, as a hiring manager, nothing of value because thousands of candidates use the same language. Instead, write something like this:

โ€œA commercially aware and results-driven professional with five yearsโ€™ experience in customer service and sales. Recognised as Employee of the Month for exceeding performance targets and improving customer satisfaction, evidenced by consistent five-star reviews and positive customer feedback.โ€

Mistake #2: Writing a personal statement that could apply to any job
One of the biggest mistakes I see is candidates using the same personal statement for every application. For example, if you are applying for a Project Manager role, I should immediately see evidence of project delivery, stakeholder management, budgets, deadlines and results. Tailor your personal statement to the job role, and your chances of getting invited to interview will skyrocket.

Mistake #3: Focusing on what YOU want instead of what the employer NEEDS
Avoid statements such as:

โ€œI am looking for an exciting opportunity to develop my skills and progress my career.โ€

Instead, write something that demonstrates your focus on helping the company or organisation:

โ€œI am committed to using my skills and experience to support [INSERT COMPANY NAME]โ€™s objectives, contribute to team success, and help achieve its goal of becoming the market leader.โ€

3 powerful tips for writing the perfect CV personal statement
TIP 1 – Start with a strong professional identity
For example:

โ€œA commercially focused and results-driven Sales Manager with 8 yearsโ€™ experienceโ€ฆโ€

Or:

โ€œA highly organised and customer-focused professional with proven experience in exceeding customer expectations and increasing sales.โ€

These opening statements give the hiring manager instant context.

TIP 2 – Mirror the language of the job description
Doing this helps improve relevance and quickly shows the hiring manager or the Applicant Tracking System that you are a close match for the role.

TIP 3 – Include proof, not just claims
Do not just say you are good. Give the hiring manager a reason to believe you.

A weak example is this:

โ€œAn excellent salesperson with strong communication skills.โ€

A strong alternative is this:

โ€œA results-driven sales professional with a track record of exceeding annual targets by 15%.โ€

Always remember: Adding numbers to your personal statement instantly adds credibility.
