US-Iran War: Beirut Protests After Israel Kills 3 Journalists In A Targeted Airstrike | Originals

Protesters gathered in Martyrs’ Square in Beirut on March 28, holding photos of Lebanese journalists killed in an Israeli airstrike earlier that day. According to Lebanese authorities and media reports, three journalists were killed in southern Lebanon when their vehicle was hit. They were identified as Ali Shaib of Al Manar, Fatima Ftouni of Al Mayadeen, and cameraman Mohammed Ftouni.

Israel’s military said the strike targeted Shaib, alleging he was part of a Hezbollah intelligence unit and had shared information on Israeli troop locations. The statement did not mention the other journalists or provide evidence for the claim. Hezbollah denied the allegation.

Reporters Without Borders said it had been warning about increasing risks to journalists, while the Committee to Protect Journalists noted multiple reporter deaths in the region since the Iran war began on February 28.
