An elderly doctor couple in south Delhi’s Greater Kailash was allegedly kept under a ‘digital arrest’ by cybercriminals for more than two weeks, coerced into transferring nearly ₹14.85 crore to multiple bank accounts after scammers impersonated law enforcement and telecom officials and threatened them with false criminal charges, Delhi Police said. The fraud unfolded between December 24 and January 9 as the suspects used psychological pressure and fake video calls to control the victims. An e-FIR has been registered and the cybercrime unit is investigating.

Two workers have been rescued alive from a hydropower tunnel in Nepal, nine days after devastating floods buried the project under debris.

The workers, identified as Kabir Maharjan and Sanjay Shah, were pulled from the Trishuli 3A Hydropower Project in Trishuli. Both reportedly suffered injuries to their arms and legs after surviving inside the tunnel.

The dramatic rescue has raised fresh hopes for hundreds of others still believed to be trapped. Local authorities say around 900 workers are missing from 12 hydropower projects, with roughly 500 believed to be inside tunnels.

That’s the video coming out of Nepal, where a huge landslide has slammed into the swollen Kali Gandaki River after days of heavy rain. Across the country, floods and landslides have killed at least 24 people, and 14 are still missing. Homes, roads, bridges and hydropower projects have been damaged. It comes less than a month after the flash floods of August 26. Watch the footage and see what we know so far.
